I have lost several over the years by leaving it leaning against my car, or at the store in a shopping cart. My bad! The product is durable; it should easily last several years if you #1 don't lose it like me and #2 keep a fresh rubber tip on it. I push down pretty hard on my cane and the handle has a soft rubber grip that doesn't flex too much and it helps make my hand and wrist more comfortable. I have severe stenosis of my lumbar spine and I am bent forward when I walk. My cane helps me to straighten up. Sometimes, if I know I'll be walking a lot, I use 2 canes and it helps me even more. I like the way my canes swing as I walk. I have tried some canes that have a larger, 3 pads footprint, but they take a lot more effort from my wrist to try to get them to swing as I go. The Carex cane I use reminds me of the ski poles I used to use that were designed to swing quickly because of the balance and light weight.
