like twists, etc
I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes so I bought this to help me keep track of my physical activity level through the day. I wanted a watch that would track exercise (I do elliptical), steps, calories burned, and sleep (I have insomnia and sleep issues).Physical Activity - The watch reminds me to get up off my butt and move. It will walk you through stretches you can do, like twists, etc. You can modify the duration of inactivity before being reminded.Exercise - This watch tracks multiple forms of exercise (running, walking, treadmill, cycling, hiking, lunges, crunches, elliptical, etc). You can set your duration and the watch will update you on your time status every 5 minutes (this can be adjusted, the default is 5). Also, tracks calories burned on what you are doing and appears to do so based on heart rate.Steps - Not the most accurate, but I don't know any watch that is. It does a decent job though, and it does remind me to keep moving and helps me hit a step target that works well for me.Calories - This will show how many calories you have burned based on steps and any exercise you may have done. I can't tell how accurate it is, as I have not yet compared it to other things. It gives me a good enough idea, though, to be able to know how much I need to eat in order to lose weight. It works very well with the Samsung Health app if you track your calories there.Sleep - I've had a couple of watches and apps to track sleep, and this one is far more accurate than any of them. It syncs with the Samsung Health app and shows deep sleep, light sleep, etc. This has been very helpful in trying to work through my sleep issues and trying to determine which natural and prescription sleep medications work best for me.Other - Many different watch faces available. A decent selection of free ones and some pay ones that are great too. You can link your weather app to the watch, your calendar, track water, and caffeine intake link to Endomondo, MapMyRun, UA Record, and My Fitness Pal. Shows floors (I don't use the GPS on the watch as it drains the battery quickly so it bases that on your phone), you also have an option to do it "together" if you want to track with a group. The heart rate monitor is fairly accurate and you can set thresholds on the app.The watch also shows your text messages and allows basic replies (you can program these with the app on your phone) as well as incoming phone calls and accept/reject them. Many other apps link too for notifications like Facebook and email (most notifications you get on the notification bar on your phone will show up on the watch), but I personally have disabled most of them. Finally, syncing this to your Galaxy couldn't be any easier. Download the app, then turn on the watch (assuming Bluetooth is able to be found on your phone), and then a code appears on the watch and the phone, confirm if they match, and that is it. My wife loved my watch so much that she got one too (thus two reviews that say the same thing).

Solid android wearable pedometer
Since opening the box ,I have been very satisfied with my purchase of the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro. The product has a quick charge and was simple to navigate when connecting to my android phone. I currently have an LG G3 that is on its last legs of life, but the use of the Samsung Gear app in combination with setup of the device on my non-Samsung android phone was simple. While the use and set up was one of the most important pieces to me, the look and feel of the product is also very solid. I've never owned as capable of a wrist wearable device as my last Fitbit Charge HR wasn't intended to have such a robust display and capability. The screen on the Fit2 Pro is vibrant and easy to manipulate via the touch screen scroll. The 2 buttons on the side for navigating and activating the device are intuitive and make use of the product effortless. I've been very impressed with the overall use of the product from the initial setup. I have read other reviews speaking about the negatives of using the Samsung store for obtaining additional applications, but this isn't a feature of the device that I intend to use.As I mentioned, I consider myself a minimalist user, and I thought that the Fit2 Pro did a great job of offering me simple and convenient options to ensure that I am able to customize the amount of notifications received on the device. I mostly wanted this product as a means of tracking my personal daily fitness, steps around the office, errands and picking up after my kid around the house, and the last thing I need is further notifications attracting my attention all day long when I need to focus on productivity. I can't count on the battery life of my LG phone, so having this wearable with long lasting battery life (3-4 days per charge) that can minimize notifications from my phone is what made me pick the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro. Having it connected to Bluetooth on my phone drains the battery less than I originally anticipated, which is a big plus. The water resistance also makes it so I don't have to take my Fit2 Pro on and off every time I'm doing something near water, which is a lot more often than I'd originally thought. My dog needs to go for a walk, and that means rain, snow, or shine. Having a toddler running around means I'm doing dishes, washing hands and faces, giving baths, and I can do them all without a second thought that I'm going to fry the device. This is a real convenience for me.In sum, I've been pleased with all of the features that the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro has to offer. I'm relatively new to android wearables and this product was within my price range and has been very easy to use. The device looks great, has a vibrant screen, yet is subtle enough not to leave me thinking about the thing on my wrist all day. The long-lasting battery, pedometer, and water-resistance are the features I value the most. I would recommend this product to anyone.
