ESR Slim Clear Soft TPU Case for iPhone Xs/ iPhone X, Soft Flexible Cover Compatible for 5.8 inch(2017 & 2018 Release)(Jelly Clear)

I couldn’t make up my mind which iPhone X case to get, so I tried out 5 different cases. Here’s my summary: B0743577RN - ESR Crystal Clear Soft TPU iPhone X Case: Currently my favorite case of the group. Looks good on the phone, provides some protection for the screen, feels good going into your pocket. The lip for screen protection is a little small, but I’m hoping it’s good enough. B074CNF6YW - Spigen Rugged Armor iPhone X Case: This is my second favorite case of the set. The cut-out around the apple logo is great for orienting your phone when you are grabbing it without looking at it. It also makes the phone less slippery since you can pinch the phone with a finger in the cut-out. The thing I like least about the case is that it is the bulkiest of the five. It’s a “rugged” case so it has a big bumper surrounding the display and has bulkier look than the other cases. B07569T3NM - TOZO for iPhone X Case: Thinnest of the 5 cases. My main problem with this case is that there is no protection for the face of the phone. The case doesn’t extend beyond the screen. So I suspect if you get unlucky and drop it so it lands on a corner angled towards the screen there’s not going to be much protection. Or if you place your phone face down on a table, the screen will go directly on the table - the case doesn’t make contact with the table and provide protection. B076V4CH4H - iPhone X Case, Kroma: The main thing I don’t like about the case is that the buttons are stiff. Noticeably stiff. Stiff enough that I think about it pressing buttons. Any case that makes me think about button presses is a no-go. B0759JJQJC - iPhone X Case, TORRAS: Feels “sticky” going into your pocket. Too annoying going into the pocket for me to use.

This case is a snug fit, and that is exactly what you want. It took a bit of a push to get it in and now it is securely wrapped and won't fall off or allow the iPhone to slide around like some other cases. I wanted a case that does not detract from the design of my X and at the same time not add any bulk. You bought that cool, slim phone for a reason, so don't go wrapping a bulky Snuggie around it! This case is barely taller than the iPhone X itself. If you don't have a screen protector, there is a super small rise so the case protects if you lay it face down. I have a screen protector that is maybe 1mm so it ends up flush with the height of this case. Clear is the way to go. Like I said, you paid for that beautiful X so you need to be able to show it off. There is a tiny ridge around the camera. Apple made the camera stick out a bit so without a case it doesn't lay fully flat on the back. This case wraps that up nicely and includes a slight ridge so the camera is protected. With the case laying on the back side it sits evenly on the table. As an added bonus, the micro dot tech that they add to the inside of the case creates a cool, almost carbon fiber look to things. I like it a lot!

1 Year Later Review: I waited a year to write this review because of the most important reason: Does this case stay clear and protect the phone long-term? I got this case after getting the iPhone XS a year ago because I wanted to showcase that great, gold back color (as most people who got the phone did). The phone case does what it's meant to do, but there are some trade-offs. See below Pros: 1. This case comes out of the box incredibly clear. You can clearly see the back color of your phone the first time you put it on 2. The microdots do a great job in terms of preventing your phone from having the WET look, where it looks like there are water spots between your phone and case. Some of my friends use clear cases with the wet look, and it does detract from the aesthetics 3. This case is THIN. Sometimes people don't even realize you have a case around your phone (My friend couldn't believe that I "didn't have a case on" to protect my $1000 phone). 4. Unlike a lot of other cases that fit both the iPhone X and XS but is too small for the XS, this camera cut-out is slightly larger than the XS camera cut-out so it'll fit properly. There's a slight lip to protect the camera bump in case you drop your phone 5. This case DOES protect the phone! I've accidentally dropped the phone from about waist height a couple of times, and there are no cracks on my phone. 6. Very flexible. Super easy to put on CONS: 1. The most important thing for people reading this review: YES, the case does yellow after about 6 months of use, albeit quite slowly. This was a disappointment since the case supposedly held up against yellowing, but after a year, there's a clear yellow color when you look through the phone. I didn't initially mind it since my phone is also gold-yellow. But sometimes when I take the phone case off to clean it, I'm a bit amazed at how different the color my phone actually is. 2. This case scratches pretty easily. Expected since it's quite pliable, but if you have keys or coins in the same pocket as the phone, it will scratch the case permanently 3. The inside of the case gets quite dusty since it's not an airtight seal. Again, this is expected given how easy it is to put the case on, but you will see a lot of dust even after just 2-3 days after you just cleaned it Overall great case, especially if you can get it on sale. I might be looking towards a new one soon since the yellowing and scratching are starting to get a bit much

Update* I have had this case for a year now and it has been my favorite case. Very thin yet provides nice coverage for my phone. After a year, the black is chipping off around the edges on the front of the case which really stand out against my black phone and black case. Other than that definitely a great thin case!! This case is nice and thin, which is exactly what I was looking for. The material isn’t slippery so it won’t slip out of your hands. It is just rubbery enough to be able to hold it without worrying about dropping it, but will slid in and out of your pocket without a problem. It doesn’t hold on to fingerprints just like it says, which is nice as well. The only downside is that the cutout for the camera on the back isn’t the exact same size as the camera lens raised area. There is a gap at the top and all the way around the right side to the bottom. It’s not a huge deal but it will allow dust and dirt to get in that area potentially causing unnecessary scratches to the back of the phone. Other than that, I have no issues with the case.

This case was my third go around in trying to find a case that would give me protection but also show off the X. It's a very snug fit so it does not add bulk to your phone. I wear jeans that are slim and regardless what case or phone I own it will always print through my jeans. This is slim enough that I don't have to fit to get it out of my jeans every time I pull it out. The ports are perfectly cut on the bottom and no issues with plugging headphones. The side buttons have not changed in the amount of pressure needed to press. With other transparent or clear cases I've purchased I notice right away signs of 'yellowing'. This usually happens to me fairly quickly because of the AZ sun. This phone does not show those signs and is still very new looking. I don't see much of finger prints on the back so I don't need to constantly pull my phone out and clean the back. The only thing I would recommend is buying a tempered glass screen protector to add that extra safety precaution for this phone. I've only dropped this phone twice and it has been at work with thin carpeting. I've dropped it on the corner of the case and also on the face of my phone. I did not see visual damage or affected functionality. I would for the price, slimness and protection I would recommend the case.

The good thing is that the case is pretty much the size I wanted. Not too thick, not paper thin. It’s similar to the flexible thin Spigen iPhone 7 case I had, but less perfect from a manufacturing standpoint. Lots of little defects/lack of attention to detail in the actual case quality. Top of my case above the notch has a small bend to it, so it doesn’t really look straight against the phone. The mute switch hole is slightly lower going towards the bottom of side of the phone than the top portion. Makes muting the phone a little awkward sometimes. Case seams are visually identifiable and you can feel them, and there are some rub marks in the port holes - kind of gives the illusion that you have scratches on your phone near the port and mute switch. My biggest complaint though is the sharp edges on the port cutouts, specifically for the lightning port. If you often rest your pinky under the lightning port, get ready for this case to painfully dig into your finger. I’m just not sure how durable this case will be. It’s got more flex to it than it looks like it should (likely meaning cheap materials/shoddy manufacturing). The case isn’t paper thin like a Peel case or anything like that, but it certainly feels like it, in how much it flexes and bends, especially along the edges when you have it on the phone. Overall, I’ll put up with the faults for having a small case that shows off the phone, with minimal logos/marketing (just a clear ESR logo along the bottom right corner), and provides a lip of protection for the back camera and screen, but it doesn’t exactly make it comfortable to hold my phone for long periods of time. It might come across as nitpicking, given the low price tag, but there are other companies out there who are making better quality cases for the same price or less. Update: Customer service reached out to me to offer a refund or exchange. I took the refund. Appreciate that they said they’d pass my feedback along to the design team also, but I cannot be paid off to give a higher rating. The quality of the product remains the same.

I'm really digging this case. It's nice and thin, but not so thin that it's floppy and won't hold it's shape. It goes on my iphone X and conforms to it's shape well. The TPU feels pretty grippy in my hand, but slides in and out of my pockets easily. It's easy to install and remove, and has good cut-outs for the speakers, lightning port, and mute switch. As the description says, the cut out around the camera and front screen have enough of a lip to keep the phone off of flat surfaces- although my glass screen protector is barely below the lip of the case. The transparent black color works really well with my space gray phone. Because the case is so thin, I don't think it'll provide much drop protection, but I think it'll do better than the ultra thin plastic cases. Overall I'm really happy with this case, and the price can't be beat.

I'm somewhat of a case connoisseur and tend not to be satisfied with anything I've been able to find ever since the 5S. HATE hard-shell cases, but good TPU cases are so hard to comeby nowadays. Love everything about this one, but I'll point out some features that made this stand out for me: PROS 1) It fits like a glove. No weird air pockets or overtly large gaps between the phone and the interior of the case. This one doesn't slip. Plus the buttons are covered! 2) Raised lip for the camera AND the front screen. It's tough to get one or the other, let alone both. I really like that for such a compact case, the lip protrudes just enough to keep the phone from touching a surface if it's laid flat (screen-down). 3) Light footprint!!! Problem with a lot of these TPU cases is that they add so much bulk and don't offer much additional protection. Well I've dropped this already twice onto concrete and solid marble tile and both times not a scratch or dent to speak of. These were relatively minor drops though, and I don't suggest you use this to protect against anything more than the occasional fumble or a poorly positioned fall. I've just been lucky The only nitpick I have with this case might be that the cutout for the camera on the back of the case is a little bit large, leaving a small but noticeable space between the camera and the case. Other cases have managed to tighten the gap, but it's not nearly that bothersome. Also would have been nice to have precise holes cut for the speaker grill instead of two long openings, but that's just me finding something to gripe about.

I was looking for a slim/thin case for my iPhone X since the Spigen Liquid Crystal case which was a bit too chunky for my liking. This case certainly fits the bill as a slim case - it's slimmer than the Liquid Crystal but offers a bit more protection thickness wise than the super ultra thin cases like Spigen's Air Skin. The case itself is very flexible - it has the flex of a fully silicone case but without the extreme "grippiness" that a silicone case has. However, this becomes one of the faults with this case. The greater flexibility of this case means that the edges (that run along the long side of the phone) are a little bit loose, and the corners, which the case seems to use to grip the phone come off easily. There's been a few instances where I've taken the case out of my pocket and one of the corners of the case has worked itself loose and is no longer on the phone. With my luck, it'll probably come loose the one time I accidentally drop my phone. The back of the phone is slightly matted black that's a little bit shiny. It does attract fingerprints, but not nearly as much as the naked glass back. It's not enough to be a dealbreaker, but I think it's worth noting that if you have greasy hands, it's going to show. I personally wash my phone cases once a week with some soap and water so it's not a big deal to me. It's a pretty low key looking case, so there's no flashy logos or text on the back. It would be nice if they offered one that was slightly transparent/opaque since the straight black back does look a little plain. Overall, it's a decent case if you're looking for something thin. If the case could fit a little tighter, I think this would cover my biggest gripes with this case as the case coming off at inopportune times seems to defeat the purpose of a case. EDIT: 11/21: An ESR rep reached out to me today to let me know they've read my review and offered a refund of my purchase. I was pleasantly surprised and this is certainly a great example of a company that stands behind their product and is willing to make things right if a customer isn't satisfied. Based on this, I certainly would not hesitate to purchase from them again. They indicated that they've taken note of my concerns and will let me know when an updated design comes out so I can test. Although the case isn't perfect for my use, I've given them the extra 2 stars for the customer support experience as it in my opinion represents a true "customer first" experience.

Habituellement fidèle à Spiegen il s’avère que la dernière coque pour IPhone X est grossière ce qui m’a poussé à venir chez ESR qui est incontestablement un partenaire de choix... **** RECOMMANDE ****

J'avais pris pour coutume d'utiliser pour chaque nouvel iPhone les coques en silicone de chez Spigen, mais celle que j'ai acheté en même temps que l'iPhone X m'a déçu (elle est beaucoup trop épaisse et donne un aspect trop gros et lourd au téléphone. Ce qui est plus que dommage car on perd le rendu esthétique du X) J'ai donc pris celle ci en remplacement, sans vraiment être sûr et je suis plus que satisfait. Elle est fine et suffisamment souple. L'iPhone garde un bon aspect. Il me semble assez bien protégé. La couleur ne change pas au bout d'un certain temps (comme certaines autres marques). Les découpes sont propres et la coque ne laisse pas de marque sur le téléphone comme j'ai pu le lire sur certains commentaires. La coque permet l'utilisation d'un chargeur sans fil. Bref tout à fait satisfait de ce modelé.

Per cominciare al meglio la mia avventura col nuovissimo iPhone X i primi due accessori che ho acquistato sono stati ovviamente il vetro temperato e la cover. Ho scelto di affidarmi ancora una volta ad ESR in quanto mi sono sempre trovato divinamente con i prodotti di questo marchio, che reputo vincente anche nell'ottica del rapporto qualità/prezzo. La cover si presenta subito molto bene in un packaging curato e accattivante. Si installa con estrema facilità e non impatta nelle dimensioni del telefono. Molto bella anche la resa estetica, che essendo ultra sottile mantiene le forme originali di iPhone, senza però pregiudicare la protezione agli urti (gli spigoli sono tutti rinforzati), la cover è inoltre progettata in modo da non far poggiare ne la fotocamera ne il display oled. Confermo il perfetto funzionamento della ricarica wireless anche con la cover installata. Ho visto che in questa nuova versione il produttore dichiara una grande resistenza ai raggi UV, che potenzialmente potrebbe essere la miglior feature di questa cover ma che tuttavia credo debba essere testata nel tempo. Al momento il telefono avendo solo 3 giorni di vita non ha subito cadute o urti, tuttavia mi sento abbastanza tranquillo sotto questo punto di vista avendo già utilizzato protezioni di ESR negli anni scorsi; aggiornerò in futuro la recensione con eventuali sviluppi su questo aspetto.
