Doesn't Function Properly, Lacks Listed Features
Beware that this Ancel V6 Plus unit does not function properly. It couldn't program keys for my vehicle because it doesn't drill down to the model. It may program a vehicle but it may have like 1% of vehicles that can be selected. In general operation, once you select the make the model many features aren't available. It is very limited. It is extremely glitchy. Gets stuck on a page to identify the vehicle even after it identifies the VIN#. Rebooting doesn't help. Won't scan after it gets stuck. It doesn't have hot keys and bidirectional functionality as advertised. The features don't allow you to select the proper make and model. It may have hardware and software issues. It is made in China. If it actually could do what is advertised, it would be a great unit. It maybe can do 10% of what is advertised. It is a very expensive piece of junk. Certainly can't do bidirectional. Hot Keys don't work. I tried to buy this through Ancel but when I went to pay it sent me to a thirdparty site that created a fraud alert. Emailed company and they wanted screen shots. So I just ordered on Amazon. Doesn't work. Any basic OBD scanner works better than this.

Couldn't do what I needed it to do but overall it's cool
I wasn't able to remove the MyKey feature from my 2012 Ford Taurus Limited or even make another key fob but I could remove error codes and see the problems that come up so it was somewhat useful.

Great scan tool for the backyard mechanic to the experienced technician!
Easy to use with great support! Continuously updating. I have scanned a total of 14 cars and all modes fully function. Recommended for your everyday weekend mechanic to your dealership technician! Great buy at a great price!

Won't do anything a 15$ scanner won't do
Watched youtube videos and got suckered in buying this one got it to check my injectors this won't do that on a 2001 Ford 7.3 it doesn't even have 2001 in the programming. Will not automatically search VIN it wants PCM s/nIt's pretty much useless as a bi-directional scan tool

Great for pro and prosumer use. True bidirectional.
I am in the prosumer auto mechanic side of things, in that I have a 7 bay garage with a dedicated shop bay but yet I work full time for a paycheck. I work on my own vehicles as well as others, but not in any way at a pace comparable to a full time shop that turns out multiple jobs a day. So that should clear that up....I have a couple other OBD scan tools, but this is my first bidirectional scan tool. On the scan only side of things, this is similar to my $200 scan tool in the ability to read both generic OBD and manufacturer specific. This does provide much more reach into reading ABS, SRS, BCM and more... essentially this scan tool can communicate with every module within the given car.Ability to perform bidirectional actions is limited not by the tool, but by the vehicle. If your 2004 car does not have ability to perform an action, you obviously will not be able to command it with this tool.Having the ability to clear and set in new key FOBs is great, also bleeding your ABS system from master cylinder to calipers is awesome. Being able to command cutting out a cylinder is very helpful. Essentially, for a prosumer or even a shop who does not own a red and white truck scan tool that costs thousands of dollars.... this gives you 85% of the snap off capability for 1/5th the cost. The software driving this is typical and easy to use and navigate, the hardware is very fast and responsive. I own 2 other Android based touch screen scanners (ThinkScan sold here on Amazon) and find that the software on the touch screen units is all similar with each manufacturer putting their own slight twist to the user interface. This Ancel for sure is above and beyond the (much cheaper) ThinkScan models that I bought. The software on the V6 Plus+ is supported for 2 years from the time of activation, I would prefer free upgrades for life of the product, but honestly it is not horrible to have to pay $150 a year after year 2 to keep getting all of your software updates and model year updates.I will try to come back and add more to this review as I am forced to use the scan tool on different makes and models, but so far the only task that I have failed at was programming a key fob to a 2015 Kia Soul +, for some reason I could not get that action to work and I had to take the car to a lock smith to be programmed by a very similar looking scan tool. That was disappointing. But everything else I have used has worked and been very fast compared to the cheaper ThinkScan scanners, I suspect that this is due to hardware differences? But this thing really reads, scans, communicates and clears very fast. Faster than anything I have ever seen.I would recommend this scanner, the case is nice, the software is clean and easy, it allows you to do things that pro level scanners costing thousands of dollars can do and it does it for far under a grand. Go for it!

Keeps Freezing
The scanner seems to be a decent scanner. I haven't tried any of the fancy features it is supposed to have yet. My main use is scanning basic modules to trouble codes on vehicles. It has worked on most vehicles I've tried it on so far, but has yet to work on my Volvo. Which is one of the main reasons I bought I have updated the software, and it still won't work properly. It connected one time, but then hung up doing the "quick scan" and I had to reboot it. Now it won't connect again. No idea what the deal is, but my bluedriver scanner doesn't have this issue at all. Not worth the money if it can't connect to a common vehicle and do basic functions. Better off buying a cheaper one, or trying another brand to be honest.
