Gentle Hikes of Minnesota's North Shore: The North Shore's Most Scenic Hikes Under 3 Miles

A must read for travelers
I read 4 books in preparation for our trip around lake superior this summer. This one along with Hiking the North Shore:50 fabulous day hikes by Andrew Slade - were the best in preparing for our trip. We are in our 40s and 50s with only minimal to moderate experience and some health and stamina considerations. I know we are going to have a fabulous trip. Thanks to those who take the time to document natures beauty and the best ways to accesss it.

Beautiful!
This is an awesome book for any family who likes hiking! It explains what the hikes are like, explains the scenery, tells you which are ones not to be missed... If you plan on going to Minnesota and you like nature, this book should go with you!

Great Book!
This book was very helpful on our trip to the North Shore of MN. We would have missed many of the great hikes since they weren't very well marked. Invaluable resource on our trip!

Useful
On the North Shore, you can probably just hop out of your car anyplace you can park and have a nice walk. But, this guide will help you find the most spectacular, not-to-be-missed sights, many of which really are within a short walk of the road. We found this book really useful to plan easy hikes with a 7-year-old child. Anyone else with limited hiking ability would also find the book useful. Even if you just don't have a ton of time to spend, but want to do more than look at Gooseberry Falls. Highly recommended.
