can you also read the primary ignition system ?

I have not tried but I'm sure you could. After all it is a coil. It just isn't c.o.p. it also does the ignition wire's.

Will it work on a 06 F150 5.4? ie. will it fit into the tight areas to pick up a signal from the COPs?

Answer here...I am not very familiar with this engine. A 5.4 sounds more like an 8 cylinder motor. The pick up probe is flexible and yet is rigid. It worked well with my Jeep v6 3.7. I don't use it much, but it works well. larry
