I ordered 3/8 so that it would be less restrictive to flow. As you can see, the whole thing necks down to a hole in the middle that’s not even 1/4” in diameter. Definitely not good for any real flow. The nipple that came with the valve is poorly machined and bottomed out in a 3/8 NPT hole so I ended up buying a brass one to use instead. I can’t recommend this valve.

Its been all most a year now and Ball valve works great no leaks. I use this ball valve 1/2 inch to replace a old one on my hot water heater.

Great stainless valve

Needed a 1-1/2" valve for my daughter's pools system.... the threads are indeed 1-1/2" but the internal hole is less than an inch and is just the stupidest piece of engineering that I have seen in a long time. I am in the construction industry and if you need a 1" throughput valve you would get a 1" full-port valve with 1" threads! What sense does it make to take a 1" throughput and make it with 1-1/2" threads? Just a waste. Their 2" valves were actually 2" so what gives?
