Works well for use in van for coffee
Works well for heating water for tea coffee or cereal while traveling. Including overnight stays at rest areas very good item for the price

I’d recommend
It heats up well. I tested it on my way home from the mall- a @25 min drive. The water was hot enough less than 1/2 way home. Much quicker than I expected from reading other reviews, and then it shut off automatically, but kept turning back on to keep the temperature up to the same point. I’m impressed. I love the color. My only gripe is that the circumference is 3.18 which is just a hair too wide to fit an economy car’s cup holder. Oh, I actually hated that the cord is placed at the base because that makes fitting it into a standard cup holder actually impossible. I had to use the passenger door cup holder. So, good news- this product’s cord was long enough to reach over there. I liked the product so much that I just sprang for a cup holder expander. I was going to return it, but few other models have nice colors to choose or the safety vent on top that’s as good of quality. In fact, the whole product is nice and sturdy- not flimsy. I always have pretty low expectations of Amazon products- and I’m extra happy whenever I’m proven wrong.

Works great
Works as expected. Takes about 15minutes to get water to a low boil but for drinks you don't have to wait that long. No trouble using it in a toyota prius. I recommend this product.UPDATE: 5 months later I am having no trouble with the unit itself; however, the contacts for my plug came apart. I reached out to the company asking where I could get a replacement plug and they sent me a new one. This company stands by their product. Do not hesitate to buy from them. I am a HUGE fan of this product. I've used it to heat water for tea, hot chocolate, coffee, cup o noodles and soups. It makes watching kid games in the cold much more tolerable and affordable (beats concession stand prices) and is wonderful to have on camping trips for a hot cup of coffee in the morning. Love this

It actually boils the water
I had pretty low expectations because some of the people in my car SUV camping group said that these car kettles don’t really do anything besides get water hot but after using this several times while on a road trip from New York to Ohio I found that within about 20 minutes of driving with it plugged in it actually brings the water to a boil, which is perfect for hot soaking food. I also found that you can heat up and get water to a boil while idling the car. It just takes a little longer maybe closer to half an hour. I would definitely recommend this so far if anything goes wrong during my travels and usage of it I will update this review.

Charging cable burns out from regular use
Used it a 2 - 3 times per week for 2 months and it burned out. The charging cable just gets too hot and can not survive regular use. Also, putting the cable on the base make its difficult to use in your car cup holder.

Works but...
Loved it at first but there are some issues. Plug is very low on the body of the cup, so you can't securely seat it into a cup holder while in use. This can be dangerous while driving. Risk of spilling boiling hot water is very high. Do not forget to leave the little rubber vent open on top and DO NOT attempt to pour hot water from the vent hole! It will pressurize and spray out boiling hot water everywhere. Ask me how I know this. Another issue is the plug that goes into your car gets VERY hot as well. One of my cigarette lighter plugs shorted out this last trip, and I am fairly certain this item was the culprit. It was a secondary plug and this was the only thing I plugged into it. Lastly, the outside of the bottle gets extremely hot when the water boils, it almost needs a protective sleeve or better insulation in manufacturing. It did successfully boil water for me for during road trips and camping over the past few months however.

Works exactly for what was needed
Bought this to take on an 8+ hour road trip (one way) for heating up breast milk in breast milk storage bags and let me tell you, this thing worked like a charm. As the passenger I was able to continuously check on the milk to make sure it was heating to the desired temperature and it went very quickly and very smoothly. Not sure how long the cup/cord are designed to last but for the trip it was definitely easier than having to stop somewhere, especially as we drove in the middle of the night. So impressed. Worth every penny.

Portable car kettle
Used to help warm water to make my babys bottles, while traveling out of state for doctors appts. Temp did get up to 160°, took about 12 mins to get to that temperature.4 star reason**Two dislikes: ONE> is how long it takes to warm up, but if you time your babys feeding correctly..you can definitely have a bottle ready and cooled down in time for him/her to eat. TWO>charging outlet to warm it up is at the bottom, makes it harder to warm up because you can't have it sit in a cup holder.Didn't have a problem pouring it. It does get super hot, so be careful. Overall, i love it and its a great buy!
