De'Longhi Icona Micalite KBOM3001R Kettle - Red

This is such a beautiful kettle I really do want to sit and watch it boil! It boils quickly. It has a lovely gentle purring noise as well. My video makes it sound louder than it is. The spout is narrower at the end than my last kettle so you can really direct the flow of the water when you pour. It is really gleaming and looks robust. The red is so shiny you can see your reflection in it. Lid glides off easily. Best kettle I’ve had and worth the money. Everyone admires it! I looked at another review about the lid falling in and this is not true for mine. I could not force the lid down if I tried. It must have been updated. Empty mine weighs about 920g.

La prise électrique était pour la norme Angleterre/États-Unis. Et elle ne passe pas en Europe. J'étais obligé d'acheter une prise électrique pour le changer. Pour cette prix-là, je trouve que c'est pas très raisonnable.

Unfortunately I ordered with the UK plug. I had it in my cupboard since I bought it. Didn't know until recently it had a UK plug on it. My advise is to make sure you are buying from the amazon.com.au site or send a message to Amazon before you purchase to make sure you are getting the correct plug

It’s is absolutely worth the extra money to get a robust metal kettle rather than a plastic one where things easily break and it gets external scale build up that is hard to remove. The lid is not automatic, but I have arthritis and find it ok to lift off. The kettle is slightly heavier I guess than a plastic one, but not so much that I have noticed, but it may be something to consider. I love the beautiful spout which is narrow at the top and gives a very exact pour, which is useful if you have problems with hands (me), tremors, shaking (me) or muscle spasms (me). I am expecting that this will last longer than 9-11 months of use. Great design and colour. Definitely recommend.

I ordered this kettle from Amazon because it was a lot cheaper than in local shops. Delivery took a while because they were out of stock but I waited because of the competitive price. I have now used it for a couple of days. With workmen in the house, it has been used rather a lot in that time. It boils very quickly, looks smart and a bit special on the worktop and seems stable on its base. Metal kettles do feel hotter than plastic ones and it would have to be treated with care with children around, but then so would any other kettle. The flex is a good length, not too long, not too short. The only drawback I have found it that if you don't put the lid on properly, it can fall into the kettle - and it difficult to get out again. However, in general I am very pleased.
