Comparable to the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy!

The HAFURY UMAX Smartphone is the perfect phone for those looking for a smartphone who don’t want to drop close to $1000 on the iPhone or Samsung Galaxy. Since this phone runs on Android, it is of course most comparable to the Galaxy, but as somebody who has owned both, there are really very few differences between the two… now that’s something to think about. The size of the phone is big. In fact, it’s even described as a Phablet (Phone/Tablet). Comparatively speaking, it’s just about the same size as my iPhone 6s Plus. However, the screen is a little bit bigger on this phone, which is always good to have when you have a screen in your pocket.Since the phone is unlocked, it will work with carriers like AT&T and T-mobile. It will NOT work with carriers such as sprint and Verizon. I plan to give this phone to my significant other so she can have a smartphone to use when we travel out of the country, so that we do not have to risk our more expensive smartphones. This works perfectly as I can easily purchase a sim card in another country and be connected to their network.Back to the phone itself, the quality of the phone is very good. It feels very sturdy. It includes a screen protector and case which is great because I hate getting scratches on my phones. The battery life on the phone is remarkably good. The first time I used it, it barely went through 25% of battery for the whole day through moderate use. This phone boasts a 13 MP camera, but obviously if you’re using a Samsung Galaxy or iPhone you’ll see a pretty big difference. For quick pictures and videos, stick to your actual camera or more expensive smartphone… for a quick picture on the fly, this phone definitely does the trick. As far as apps go, this phone utilizes Android, so you’ve got full access to the Google Play Store. What’s also nice about this phone is the fact that it does not include bloatware like similar phones do. You are given what you need, and have the opportunity to add more apps if you’d like which is great in my book.Overall, this is a great phone that is perfect for those looking to get into the smartphone world, or even those who want a less expensive but at the same time very high quality phone for traveling out of the country.

This phone is comparable to a Samsung Galaxy. Save yourself $600 and buy this.

What a great phone! So why’d I only give it 4 stars instead of 5 then? I took one star off because it’s a bit awkward to add the SD card and the directions (at time of me buying it, maybe they’ve fixed this) are not great about how to install the SD card (or cards) or how to first turn it on. It won’t power up or turn on at all until you don something but they didn’t have this included in the functions and it took me several hours to figure it....but once I figured it out I was very happy with it and can say this phone is truly an awesome buy. And don’t worry, I’m going to show you how to start up this phone so you won’t bang your head against a table like I was nearly doing and I think you’ll love it too! This phone is very pretty, I got the rose gold / pink look, and is nearly as nice running and looking as my daughters $750 Samsung Edge Galaxy S7. To even be “near” as nice is amazing so e there’s such a huge price difference.I bought this phone for my mom (she’s 65) who uses Trac Fone as her phone service. . She had a horrible LG that this is replacing and for her this is like getting an iPad (she says, lol) . The phone is quite large so this is new for her but she’s adapted already. It’s slightly larger than an iPhone 7 Plus if that helps give you an idea of size. It’s almost the same width, this phone is slightly wider but it’s more so larger in that it’s taller or longer than the iPhone 7 Plus.It comes very nicely boxed and packaged and comes with a charging cord. I didn’t love the power charging cord (it’s a bit cheap) so I gave her one of my own (it’s same as Samsung cord). It also comes with a clear plastic case/ cover which is very nice and similar to the one I have on my iPhone and that iPad $15 for. They also already put a screen protector on it which is another plus and that’s two things you won’t have to buy which saves you $20-30. I didn’t realize these were included so that was a nice surprise but since I didn’t know I’m glad I didn’t order them separately. So I’d advise on not ordering a case or screen protector either if you buy this phone. Wait till you get it and if you don’t like them then you can look for a case and screen protector that’ll fit.The Android OS (operating system) that comes on this phone works just like the Galaxy S 7 (I’m an Apple girl and actually thought it worked a little smoother than my daughters galaxy s7 but I could be wrong. It’s at least the same though and that’s darn good for a phone at this price point) and my mom is familiar with Android so she’s happy with this too. You can set it up with whatever apps you wish that are for Android. It updated quickly when I first set it up and runs fast. It has a great response to touch, again just like Samsung galaxy, and seemed to also run comparatively speed wise too.We are installing her Trac Fone Sim card this week so I cannot yet say how or if it works with Trac Fone. All I know is that according to the phone manufacturer and Trac Fone “it should” work. My mom is not sure how to do it so I told her to bring it back to me and I’ll set it up for her and after we do that this week I’ll update this. She’s using it now on her WiFi and having fun playing her games and checking her email from her recliner. She’s especially happy with the battery life she said and smoothness of the OS. Her last phone was so glitchy and battery was draining after just a few hours and with no use. This battery lasted her 20 hours before she had to recharge it. This was with minimal use as it was the first day and she just set up s few things like her gmail and stuff but that’s still really great.Any downsides would be:*it’s a bit large and awkward in your hand but not horrible*it’s a bit of a nuisance to get to the SD card area but if you just put it in and leave it in this shouldn’t be an issue. It’s only going to be a little irritating I think if you do like to remove the card in order to transfer photos or something. I’d just upload them instead and leave the card alone.*It may be difficult to find a case for it but I like the one it came with so again, not an issue for me but may be a little issue for some.*And of course not coming with directions on how to start the phone so it can charge was frustrating but I saw that small indent and figured it out that it must open up and probably has some barrier protecting the battery from discharging during transport so it’s all ok. Hopefully they’ll update that because some may not come back and read reviews and then return the phone instead thinking there is something wrong with it.Now, let’s get to how to power this thing on: To start it up for the first time you need to open it and remove a plastic piece (plastic film) from the battery so it’ll charge. This is not included in the booklet they give you. To open it you’ll see a small indent on bottom right , I show you I’m my pictures where this is. (Take plastic case off first.) I had to use a eyeglasses tool kit (used the tiny screwdriver flat head) to get it (pry) open but some may be able to just use fingernails to pry it off. I also wasn’t sure of what I was doing since I was guessing that’s what I needed to do so I was being very gentle. But it was what needed to be done and it pops off with a little pressure, and now that I know that, I am not so gentle and just force it more. I’ll add pics so you see how it comes off and where each thing goes too. When you remove the back thus is also when you’ll want to add your SIM card and your SD memory cards. I think you can add two SD cards if I recall correctly (they tell you here on the page in the details). I added one 16gb as that’s all she’ll need for her uses. Now you’ll Remove the plastic film that’s blocking the battery from charging and when done close it back up. Now you can charge it up and while it’s charging you can press button on right to start it up. May wait till it’s chargerd about 15 min and then you can power it on and start setup. You’ll press the button on right each time to wake it up or turn it on.Bottom line opinion of this phone is that you can’t beat this price for the quality phone you’re getting. I bought an LG phone for my mom a year ago (the one I spoke of that had a horrible battery) for $120 and right off the bat it was a terrible phone. I wish this one had been out back then. She’s happy now though and actually she was even with the LG except for the battery, she thought that it was like an iPhone (she kept saying that to everyone) and I’d cringe because it so wasn’t anything near an iPhone. Lol. This one is though like a Samsung (better comparison, especially with the Android OS) and at least now she can truly brag about her super “high tech” phone her daughter got her. That’s it! I hope I covered everything for you. Please don’t hesitate to ask me a question should you have one though. I don’t mind helping others one bit!

The battery failed

Upon purchase, I under the impression that this phone was new. I had it all of two weeks, and the battery failed. Would not charge. Beautiful phone, but, the phone is no good without a battery.

Good phone, but freezes a lot

I love this phone. It's the right size and allows me to hold all the apps I want and is compatible with a SD card unlike my last phone. However, if the phone gets the slightest bit warm, it starts freezing. The touch screen is difficult to use when the phone is a bit warmer. But overall, it's a decent phone.

Display is quite nice, its fairly large and high-res

For a phone its real cheap and affordable but at the same time feels quite durable and made with quality material. Display is quite nice, its fairly large and high-res, though the camera is not the top of the line its pretty good for what you pay for the phone. A screen protector and phone case are included which is a plus. The battery life is the most amazing thing about this phone, I can literally listen to music all day barely using a quarter of the phones battery capacity. Animations and transitions are smooth and the phone is also fast enough to handle most games and entertainment too. If you can't afford an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy or just don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars this is a perfect alternative!
