Lovely and funny.
Great insight into Scandi/Nordic culture, with a humorous twist. Should be a required read for anyone travelling to the north lands.

Fun facts
Told with lots of humor.Learned many things not to say or do.America could benefit from how they treat each other. All Americans want is more, and to make people feel bad about what people don't have here.

Beautiful, humorous Nordic guidebook
I’m of Spanish & German descent, but remain interested in other countries/cultures; I visited Sweden 10 years ago and loved it, only wish I could have stayed more than a few days during a layover. This book, by far, is the best guide to Scandinavian/Nordic cultures — or any culture different from mine, that I’ve ever read. It’s humorous, inventive, eloquent and the photography is breath-taking. I especially loved the recipes and tried a few! I’ve been looking into traveling to a few Nordic countries so this book was perfect for said research. Well done! Highly recommend!

Positively Delightful! A fabulous read/gift for anyone with "Scandi" roots
Had me giggling from the introduction - a fantastic, easy read and delightful gift for anyone with Scandi-roots. Makes for a beautiful coffee table book or decor when you're done reading but I encourage you to pass it along to someone else and share the love. There is light-hearted information about everything from food, wardrobe, sports, HYGGE, coffee, relationships, how to properly Sauna and a section on IKEA that is especially funny.

An educational, beautiful and funny book
I loved this book. As a second generation Swede, it helped me understand my restrained, somewhat enigmatic family. The author's humor was wonderful, and made me laugh out loud every time I picked it up. I am ordering it today to give to a friend who wants to learn more about his Danish heritage.

A beautiful and funny book about Scandinavia!
I love the Scandikitchen in London and as such have been following their blog for a while. I found myself coming back to some articles every now and then (because they were funny and spot on) and was happy to find some in this book in physical form. However I would like to reassure that most of the content is unique to this book and will set clear some common beliefs and assumptions about most things Scandinavian. You will finally find out how to look Swedish (who would not want to?) and how to decorate your flat Copenhagen style. You will have the record straight on how the dating scene actually works and the social faux-pas in saunas that must be avoided. You will of course discover a lot about local traditions, food, culture, politics (and a lot more) and brush up your knowledge on their Royal families (and thus probably score extra points next time you watch ‘the chase’ or ‘eggheads’).This book will make you chuckle but mostly feel like you are being told these stories by a cool friend who does not take herself seriously in comfortable surroundings (how hygge). Oh and the illustrations and photography are absolutely beautiful. If you love all things Nordics you will adore this book and will probably find yourself picking it up quite often even after finishing reading it.
