I bought this based on all the good reviews. My daughter is 4ft 2 inches and weighs 51 pounds and within a week she chipped an edge of the flooring. It is not tight nit so it is easy to catch your foot on an edge which is how it got chipped. Her teacher would not even consider trying the floor when she saw how easy it chipped.

Fits my needs
I bought this as a tap dancing practice floor. I have it on top of a carpet in a spare bedroom and it works for what I need. I only got one of the 3 by 3 squares and more space would be nice but of the limited space I have it works for practicing non-moving steps. For the price I believe it is a good floor and worth the money spent. I was a little challenging to get together so the black edging can be put on, the first time I had it together I didn't have the "correct configuration so that the edging pieces would all fit properly. So I have to figure it out by putting the edging together first and then fitting the pieces in properly, luckily I like doing puzzles, directions and having the pieces marked would have been nice. If I ever take it apart I will definitely mark the pieces so I can quickly get it back together. I did it with bare hands but gloves probably would have made it a bit more comfortable. All in all I'm happy with the floor.

Beautiful Floor
I love the dance floor. The portability makes it perfect for living in a rental however it is really flexibly on carpet. I recommend putting plywood under it so you don’t get caught on the corners when they flex down. The laminate top does seem like it will peel off pretty easily so be careful when taking the squares apart.

I bought this for using as a dance floor over my carpeted floor. Some reviews and answers mentioned they work well. Unfortunately for me, the base of these tiles did not work very well. It was quite sharp and dug deep into the carpet. I'm afraid it would spoil the carpet, I could see it happening even in the first use. I wish the base was rubber-based or something. I'm trying to see if any hacks would make it work. The floor quality is decent but not very carpet-friendly!

Great quality!
I bought several boxes of these. They are nice, good quality. I am using them in my basement because the basement has carpeting and I wanted to be able to glide easily when I use my XBOX 360 to play dancing games. These did the trick and hold up well for all the wear and tear I could potentially be putting on them with gliding and dancing on them! The only drawback is that they are a tad bit expensive if you want to do a large area. I had to keep ordering more when I saw the small area they were covering each time. Definitely measure well and calculate before you decide to invest in these!

My wife really loves it!
Bought two sets and made a small (3x6) dance floor in front of a ballet bar and mirror. Exactly what she needed do her ballet slippers can slide nicely. Works great and would work even better on a hard surface. For me, the edging could hold together better, but that's just the engineer in me. It on very low pile carpeting...so on a wood or cement floor I think it would be optimal. Happy with this purchase and the value.

This is a great tap board
This is a great tap board. The 4 stars is for the confusion in how to put it together. No instructions came with it, but it seemed simple enough - snap and click. The problem is that there is a specific arrangement they should be placed in. We ended up with 1 end piece that didn't fit. I contacted the seller and they sent instructions. However, my daughter is fine having 1 missing end piece instead of me struggling to get the whole thing apart and redo. We spent way too much time already trying to figure out our mistake on our own. They should include the instructions with the board. Learn from our mistake. Ask for the instructions first. :)

Hard to assemble
This is a very difficult floor to put together because they mail you sets of four tiles preassembled so you need to take them apart. Pay attention to the directions because if you do not assemble it (according to the directions that didn’t come with the floor) you will need to take apart the entire floor. I contacted customer service and they were not very helpful other than sending me the assembly instructions which should have come with the floor. I had originally just asked them to send me to edge pieces so I didn’t have to take apart the entire floor and they refused to. When you take the tiles apart be careful because they come unglued from the tile. The floor itself once put together is pretty good quality. The tile top does come unglued though as you take them apart and you have to stick them back on.
