Review: Nice drill press - This a lot of tool for the money. It is solid, powerful and heavy, and despite some lackluster finish details, it performs very well for my needs. It was easy to assemble and everything fit. The owner's manual matches the tool and the assembly instructions were clear enough. The only missing piece was the cap screw for the chuck, but a quick trip to the hardware store and 50 cents later, I was back in business. The outside box was in bad shape when delivered. The corners were all crushed or torn. But the inside box was intact and, though some parts had shifted around, there was no damage. The styrofoam packing is pretty lightweight and probably not sufficient for stuff as heavy as this, but somehow all was unscathed. As mentioned before, the finish details (especially the paint job) could be better. The table and base are flat and nicely ground, and the table was set perfectly perpendicular to the chuck right out of the box. The unit runs smoothly and it is pretty quiet compared to my old drill press. Runout seems minimal. I didn't measure it, but I drilled several holes with an 8" long 1/2 inch bit, and the holes were round. The oscillating function is awesome and runs smoothly. I anticipate using it a lot. I shopped for a long time for a drill press, and even though some of the reviews on this unit were scary, I decided to take a chance due to the features I was looking for and the price. I am really happy with my choice. I think it is a very good value and I expect to use this tool for many years.
Review: Heavy duty bench top! - Great bench top drill press. Got rid of my floor press took up too much space. Mounted this on a rolling cabinet and gained more storage and organazation space! Also can move it easly if needed. Sander is a good benny to have. Debth guage is cheezy but i dialed it into my liking. Spindel is dead on and quiet motor. Minor ratteling from belt cover (im working on that). Packaged very well with no missing parts or damaged. Fingers crossed that motor does'nt go south! At 579.00 bucks its a great by for any skill leavel. Cons, no light, laser or automatic transmission to change speeds. I hope this review helps or inspires someone to utilize this press in a more practical way. It was worth the money so far...fingers crossed on motor again

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I get this model drill press without damage?**
A: Also..it's a GREAT drill press!

**Q: Is this a jt33 Taper Chuck, anyon eknow, i want to geta keyless for it**
A: Yes. Page 14 of the manual supplied with the drill press says, "The drill chuck is seated to the spindle with a JT-33 tapered surface and a screw."

**Q: Trying to find a replacement belt for the oscillating sander portion (X1668061), anyone know where to find these online?**
A: I'd been wondering this myself... The Stock part on my W1668 is not a belt, but rather a polyurethane o-ring. The closest analogue I could find was here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0051Y2LSO/ref=biss_dp_t_asn If you want true OEM parts, you can call Woodstock international at (360) 734-3482 7AM-5PM PST/PDT M-F

**Q: Where can I get a manual for this drill press?**
A: As answered you can get a copy of the manual from Grizzly or from Amazon.http://cdn0.grizzly.com/manuals/w1668_m.pdfandhttp://ec1.images-amazon.com/media/i3d/01/A/man-migrate/MANUAL000041994.pdfThey are not identical (40 pages on the Grizzly website, and 27 on the Amazon page). On difference is the depth stop. On the Grizzly site it is a jam nut on the depth stop rodon the left side, on the Amazon it is set on a collar lock knob on the spindle on the right side.My drill press has both depth stops, but the spindle does not have the depth label, and is notmentioned in the manual that came with the drill. When using the oscillating sander feature itcould be damaged if either stop is set.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Loving it so far
*by N***R on February 19, 2014*

So far this machine has been great. There is a huge lack of high end hobbyist tools and this was as close as I could get to my budget without my wife getting mad. Aesthetically it's not the prettiest machine. It does have some rough edges and cheap materials but it looks like the parts that matter are solid. For the price this is the most powerful and feature rich machine I could find. Shipped no problem. The box was banged up but there was thick Styrofoam all the way around it. I agree the instructions were terrible. Most of the images were wrong or so washed out I couldn't tell what they were showing. More than half the steps were already done for me at the factory so I guess that is a plus? You definitely need two people for at least mounting the motor on top of the shaft. The holes on the base that the shaft screws into were not threaded very well on my unit. I actually broke a bolt off trying to tighten it down the last little bit. I won't be taking it off the base so it doesn't matter but still. Drills accurately enough for anything I would want to do. The people that complain about it are probably not using a center bit or using low quality twist bits. In the future I might replace the chuck. Not necessary right now however. My biggest gripe is the table. I feel like I have to use an unnecessary amount of force to tighten it down and raising and lowering it is clunky. I'm worried I might eventually break the knobs. I have not tried the tilt feature yet because I'm afraid I couldn't get it back to 0°. The table is actually why I didn't give this 5 stars. I have used the oscillating sander and its awesome. Way better than I expected. I assumed it was just some half-arse feature tacked on but was really surprised. Worked great and they give you all the drums you need to get started. Changing the belt speed is easy. Once you figure out which belts you need to move where they slip on easily if you loosen the spring pushing the motor back. I set it to 2000 RPM and probably wont be moving it from that much. I'll update if I encounter any issues or change my mind.
