I loved waking up to the light and the nature sound. I love the size and shape. It just doesn’t work. First issue is the alarm didn’t work unless I reset it every night. Then the light has worked about 50% of the time I set it. The nature sounds worked three times and then stopped. So basically I can’t rely on the light or sound to wake me. So it doesn’t do it’s job.** update**After writing this review a few days later a new clock arrived unannounced at my door. Works perfectly. Very happy and surprised!! (I was going to return after the holidays) that’s just awesome customer service. Surprised they didn’t let me know before hand that they were sending me a new one.**updated again**The thing just up and died. Charged it as needed but it’s just dead. Waste of time and money.

I so badly want to give this product 5 stars. I love the concept and the actual wake up experience has been dramatically positive. With the old alarm clock, I used to push snooze for up to an hour and still roll out of bed tired and foggy. With this unit there was an immediate, 1st day change. I get up ready to go. Not tired. Not anxious from being jolted by the sound of an alarm. I am not exaggerating when I say it is a life changing improvement. Now i even use it on weekends, even though I don’t have to, and I am getting up hours earlier and getting things done. My problem? The functionality really needs improvement. The touch-top function doesn’t respond well and sometimes I have to touch 5-6 times before it responds. Sometimes I can only get the colored light to come on when I just want the white light and sometimes it just shuts off while I’m reading. My 1st of 5 wake sounds only worked for about 5 days. I can still hear it when I am setting sounds but it won’t actually function in the morning which could have been a real problem if I had not woken to just the light. I would send it back but I literally don’t want to go back to my old alarm. I like the new way of waking up that much. I hope they fix these frustrating issues on future versions because I really cannot say enough about how much I love waking up this way.

I’m not using this alarm clock as intended, but regardless I think it’s a really good product. Basically, the idea is that when you set your alarm, shortly before it goes off the light will turn on to its dimmest setting. Then a little later, it’ll brighten to the mid-brightest setting, and then finally full brightness. This should, in theory, wake you up as your brain thinks it’s sunrise. However, where I live, the sun comes up at around 7 a.m. and I am fast asleep. When I do wake up, around 9 a.m., the sun is already up — so the sunrise simulation doesn’t really work for me. And I also thought that it would brighten up on a curve, like starting at 0% brightness and gradually increasing to 100% brightness. However, that’s not the case, as it only has three steps.With that part out of the way, it’s a sleek looking device. The time can be switched between 12 hour time and 24 hour time. I like how the time is not too bright. I have this thing where I need my room to be very, very dark and a lot of digital clocks have an insanely bright green or blue light. This one has a dim, but still readable, orange light that’s much easier to ignore when I’m trying to sleep. It’s fantastic.My least favorite thing about this alarm clock is the included alarm sounds. They’re all of nature and the loops are only about 5 seconds, and the ones with the birds chirping are almost deafening. Thus, I find myself not using the alarm function on this clock, but I do use it as a light. I especially like the RGB colors as a bias light for my laptop at night. Or, if I want to use a warmer light (I live in a college dorm with those big, bright, white lights) I’ll turn on the regular light.To turn the light on, you just tap the top of the device. It’s capacitive. To turn on the RGB lights, you have to touch and hold. While it’s cycling between colors, if you tap again, it will stay on whatever color it is when you tap it. It took me a while to realize this.Overall, I really like this clock. It’s very useful and the light is surprisingly bright. I tend to keep it plugged in, but you can keep it unplugged for a while. I’m not sure how big the battery is, and if the light is on you’ll probably drain it quicker. Thus, I suggest keeping it plugged in.

Stopped working after 6 weeks of semi constant use. Discovered when I first got it that you had to press the alarm button every night to make sure it would go off the next morning, which was annoying but a good reminder to set the alarm. Now after about 6 weeks it suddenly won't turn on. I've tried plugging it in with different cords, different wall adapters, different outlets. Nothing. And now I'm conveniently outside of the return window. The product was great while it lasted, but isn't worth the price to only last 6 weeks.

I am not a wake up and let's go person ... turning on the light as soon as I wake up majesty cranky because it feels like my retinas will burn out. This alarm is amazing and the colors fill your heart with joy. I recommend this product to anyone especially if they have SAD. The sounds are comforting and it really does feel like you're being gently reminded by the sun that it is morning.

For me, waking with this type of light is a really helpful during the winter months. However, this lamp is too cheaply made and has some functionality issues. I've only had it for 3 months and already the sound no longer works. Frankly, this was a bonus for me (the sounds were incredibly annoying and did not help me wake up in the slightest), but a draw back for some who may have enjoyed this feature. Another major issue is the battery life. It does not say on the device how much battery is left or give any warning as to when it is low. It simply says whether it is on battery life or plugged in. How helpful! The features I like about the device, the gradual light change and colors, can easily be found in other devices. Next time, I will buy a more expensive lamp.
