fanxiang S500 Pro 512GB NVMe SSD M.2 PCIe Gen3x4 2280 Internal Solid State Drive, SLC Cache 3D NAND TLC, Up to 3200MB/s, Compatible with Laptop and PC Desktops(Black)

This SSD improved my desktop computer significantly. Much more faster right now. Boot and processing speed.

Just to be clear, I did return this product because it didn’t fix a specific issue my laptop is having but that isn’t the fault of the seller. I am giving it five stars though because in the box, It includes a screwdriver and a screw that is a perfect fit. They went above and beyond, I didn’t have the screw so having one provided for me is simply awesome and a quality that not even big name brands can’t match.

It looked like my Lenovo Flex 5 was toast. It had already been to the factory due to overheating which required a main board replacement. When it went dead and overheated again I was ready to toss the machine, but the low cost of this drive made it time for an "experiment". Before installing this, I let the machine run a few minutes and the lenove sdd was *VERY* hot. But I couldn't tell if the machine itself was damaged until I installed this drive. It's twice the capacity yet runs much cooler. Installation was easy, and I decided to replace the thermal pad at the same time. It all worked, and runs much cooler. Since Windows 11 was on the old, unrecoverable drive, putting this SSD in gave me a chance to switch to Linux. So this was a quadruple win: I got more capacity, the machine runs much cooler, I replaced dodgy Doze with Linux, which is running great, and I didn't have to buy a new machine. If you have a Flex 5 with the original SSD, order one of these drives - you're probably going to need it. Get some good SSD thermal pads too (0.75 to 1 mm). You'll be glad you did so before your machine went toasty!

Verry good, fast.

Exactly what I was expecting.

This is a good SSD, works well and has a good amount of storage.

Muy rápido este nvme muy buen producto

I'm not a band snob, so I thought I'd give these NVMe's a shot. I bought two 2TB drives for an older but more than capable PC but only installed on in: Intel i9 10900X Aorus X299X Gamer Master 128GB DDR4 4800 (4x32GB sticks in Quad Channel) MSI Gamer X RTX 4090 ...and PCIe 3.0, so no need to buy super fast, more expensive drives. or so I thought. I didn't buy them together and the second one was purchased in MARCH 2024. Both drives are dead and the second drive was an external drive connected to a Mac Studio. There is no method of contacting anyone about the warranty, and I fear if I finally can RMA these, I'd be getting someone else's repaired drive. I can't say for sure as I could find no information on contacting support anywhere. Internet searches all point back to Amazon, but no return and no support after 30 days. Don't waste your time or potentially important data. These will fail. probably sooner than later, as even though I purchased them separately, I didn't use them until I had two drives. The external drive just disappeared. Ok, odd, but I'll put it in annother enclosure and see if I can resurrect the drive. Nope. Put it in the above listed Gaming computer. No luck Ok, I'll get support. As I was searching for support, the gaming computer blue-screened. Inaccessible Boot Device. I tried that in an external enclosure that was working fine with a Sabrent NVMe. No go. Two drives, different uses, and both dead. Very strange. I took Samsung 960 Pro Samsung back in, and had no problems, so I know the computers didn't kill these drives. Neither of these drives is detectable at this point, which points to the controller on the NVMe. Mind you, you absolutely do not need heat sinks for these, but this board has them built in, so I know with 100% certainty there was not any improper handling or installation on my end. I've built several hundred machines in my time, and I've never come across such unreliable drives. Literally spend the $10 more to buy a better brand. The use of these drives were only minutes apart before they died and with that, they would have had about 40 or so hours of mostly standby power. On the Mac, I had only formatted the drive and was planning on copying apps to it. Yea, that didn't happen. The PC got Windows 11 installed and was downloading steam games. Neither drive was really used. Pass on these and save yourself the headaches.
