This is the first year we actually used it and it looks like this saw will last for decades
As a prepper/survivalist living in northern Michigan I want to be able to secure firewood year after year. I can cut trees down with an axe and once it is cut into firewood lengths I can split it with a maul. But without the use of a chain saw, there was no practical way to section a downed tree into lengths to be split. This is the first year we actually used it and it looks like this saw will last for decades. We love it. Another member of my group has a similar saw that was cheaper to buy and cheaper made that worked almost as well but wasn't going to last nearly as long which is why we bought this one. We are totally in love with this thing. Anyone that has a need to hand cut firewood should pay the extra and get this one. You won't regret it.

NECESSARY
If ever you need to get out of town get out in the wilderness, you’ll need fire wood. You’ll need to boil all drinking water, cook food, set temporary or not so temporary shelter, and warm yourself with a fire. Nobody makes it without being able to process wood. This will handle most of it. A splitting axe and an easy way to limb the tree are everything else you’ll need.

Legit, old timey logger’s saw. Huge and awkward. Looks great.
I haven’t used it to cut logs yet, but assembly was easy and it looks legit. Very much an old-timey logger’s saw. This thing is huge. I’m having trouble storing it in the garage. It’s scary sharp and threatening to fall over at the slightest bump and 5 feet of serrated blade comes falling at you from the corner! I wish they provided or sold a sheath or bag for it. It’s kind of unwieldy! This will make a great prop for our cabin, and also provide some off-grid firewood/logging option in a pinch. The antique ones are just as expensive and rusted/dull…so this is better.

Assembly
The pieces that holds the handles in place the hole need to be bored out more. They were too small.

Nice saw, not for a rookie.
Arrived without the handles and hardware. Notified seller and a replacement as was sent immediately. The wife and I tried it and felt as if we were getting nowhere. We have no clue as to what the best way to saw a 4'round tree trunk. She said enough is enough and had me grab the chainsaw. It was worth the experience.
