Q: Can this drive be password protected?

On Linux it is very easy to use password protection at the software filesystem level with LUKS. A layer on top of an encrypted virtual filesystem such as gocryptfs, etc. is also an option.

Q: Does this eject from context menu like regular flash drive, or must you use systray?

Acts like typical usb drive for me when I write click within file explorer with eject option.

Q: Does it come formatted?

It did not require formatting when I purchased it to use with an iMac running the Mac OS operating system.
