ProGuard EPDM RV roof recoat
Although I consider myself pretty handy, I'll admit that I was a bit anxious about starting this project. I was attempting to sell my RV, a 36' Fleetwood Discovery when I noticed that the rubber roof was badly in need of attention. I couldn't sell the coach with a clear mind with a "patch-job" roof, so I deceded to take the step and do the whole roof correctly. After reading a testimonial, I felt confident that I could complete the job with professional results. I figured 36x8= ~288sf, and at 42sf/gallon, ordered 6 gallons through Amazon; 1- 4 gallon bucket, and 2 1- gallon cans. Shipping was quick, and when I finished approximately 30 hours of preparation, the product arrived.I washed and waxed the entire coach first, so the roof dirt would not stick to the sides, and applied blue masking tape all around the perimeter metal drip rail. I used Dawn detergent (heck, if it could clean up Valdez Ak, it should take the oil and residues off of the rubber roof, right?) and where the rubber was overlapping or coming in contact with metal, I wiped the metal down with Acetone, to ensure adhesion. (I use Acetone when cleaning "new" metal from the steel yard to remove rust preventative oil, prior to painting). Scrubbing the roof took off a great deal of the white coating, and I ended up with a predominantly black roof.It had been in the 60s during the week while I was doing prep work, but when application day came, it climbed into the high 80s. First off, that made the black roof extremely HOT, which resulted in burns - right through the cheap Harbor Freight knee pads - to the point of half dollar sized blisters on the kees. I mention this, because the hotter weather also assisted with the curing process, and the product began to set up quicker than I had planned. I mitigated this "problem" by mixing up one of the one-gallon cans first, to accomplish all of the "cutting-in," around the vents, AC units and the perimeter. From that point on, I mixed the product in one gallon batches; using the 1 gallon can and measuring the catalyst in the one-gallon addative bottle - VERY EASY! I would suggest such a process, as it worked great for me.I performed all of the cutting-in with a 3" disposable paint brush(although the product cleans up VERY well with Mineral Spirits) a short napp 1" diameter x 6" roller and the recommended squeege. I started with the squeege, with marginal results. I switched back to the roller for the last half of the roof, and I am MUCH more satisfied with the results. It could have been that the heat made it difficult to apply an even coating surface with the squeege, but I found the roller to be easier, and the appearance was much more uniform.I ended up using only 4 gallons of the product, and am extremey satisfied with the results. After all of the prep work, the application process was just as easy as described by the company and testimonial. I feel good about selling the coach with a new roof - it looked like there was mold and mildew growing on the edges, which detracted from the overall appearance of the coach. I also used the lap sealant that was recommended, and was very satisfied with the quality and the ease of application as well as the finished product. I think it is about $20/tube, but if you are planning on a quality roof job, you should use the best stuff.Recommendations: Perform all of your cleaning and prep work while allowing plenty of time to apply the roof. Have a squeege handy/ready to try, but I suggest the short napp 6" long roller. As mentioned earlier, the one-gallon at a time process worked well for me, AND TRY TO DO THE APPLICATION ON A COOLER DAY. Otherwise, just following the directions provides a quality product.I purchased all disposable application tools (and knee pads) as I remember reading that it was easy to get the product all over everything. I didn't have the same problem. I really didn't need the rubber gloves either. The only mess I had was when I was pouring the product on the roof, and a strong breeze blew a sliver of the rubber across the vent cap(s).

Rubber Roofing
I read everything I could find about rubber roofing for a motor home. This product had the most information and great reviews. Well, I jumped in with all 4's (hands and feet) and ordered it. It came very quickly. After spending a week doing the cleaning and sealing on the motor home roof, I was ready to give it a go.I am a 60 year old woman.. yep.. got spunk too. I ordered the mixing paddle, eternabond, sealant.. and everything I needed to do it. The ONLY thing I didn't buy was a large drill.. (big mixtake) my drill could not do the job so I had to mix it in batches. It took a long time mixing from one bucket to another and then adding together and mixing more.. etc etc. until I got it all mixed to one color (whew)You have to realize, Murphy love me. When doing the roof it was going GREAT... spreading with a squidgy and rolling with the roller like the videos showed. The bad thing is I bought a cheap roller and got just what I paid for. It kept falling apart.. the roller would come off the holder. Finally I had enough of that and tossed it off the roof. Well, that leave the squidgy with the long handle... I spread it out slowly and evenly without any problem ... then at the very end on the motor home, I now have myself ready to finish it off and get down the ladder. I dropped the squidgy and no way to get down and back up SO.. guess what I did... nope, you can't guess this one.. I got on my hands and knees and finished that last bit with my HANDS.. lol.. I DO NOT suggest anyone doing this. I now have it all over me and getting off the roof got it on the ladder and everywhere I touched. I hope your laughing because now that I am finished and it looks GREAT.. I can laugh. At the time I wanted to cry BUT.. THIS IS NOT A ONE PERSON JOB... YOU NEED A SPOTTER JUST IN CASE YOU DROP THINGS(smiling)The roof turned out great so it has to be pretty much fool proof.. I love the result and would certainly tall anyone to buy it. Just rent, borrow, buy but DO get a large drill like everyone stresses... AND buy a roller that is better than mine,Use gloves (in case you need them at the end) and do make sure someone is around to help if necessary. The product is very nice.. looks great and I am expecting it to last as long as I have the motor home.. Live and learn.. read and really learn!

That this product doesn't work
I didn't like that it made our entire roof bubble up and stayed bubbled up after application. We applied this item to our roof on 7/17/19, went on vacation on 7/24/19 and returned on 8/10/19 and our entire roof was still bubbled up. To this day, we still have all the bubbles on our roof so we just covered them up with insulation board.
