Perfect for my mouth
UPDATE 2024: Six years later, and I'm still using the Ora Guards with zelro issues. It's a shame there are so many people it doesn't work for (or who fail to follow basic instructions), but to each there own. --- First things first, I've been using this dental guard brand approaching two years and absolutely love this guard. Just because someone writes a bad review doesn't mean the product is crap, but rather it just wasn't the right product for that individual. The first guard I bought lasted about a year (I really pushed it). The second guard (pictured) lasted 5 months-ish. Three to four months for hard grinders is pretty good and when I expect to replace it. As I am a very hard grinder from the top and suffer from tmj and bad acid reflux, my dentist advised me to find a bottom mouth guard to protect my already warn down teeth. I love this product because it has helped my tmj tremendously. I no longer have a quivering jaw and most of my jaw pains are gone. The guard offers a lot of cushion which act as shocks to absorb the grinds. The guard does not cause damage and ripping to your gums and cheeks like other brands do. Overall with my experience there are two drawbacks to this product: 1. When you get nausea, say from having the flu, you can't wear the guard. The guard touches your tongue and entices the need to vomit. 2. Pictured: my last one broke. Granted this could be fixed with that scary strong glue if the guard is new enough. I just popped mine back on and continued to use it for a few more weeks. I don't advise doing that though as it is a choking hazard!

Couldn't even use it
I have worn multiple night guards, but this one didn't work. It didn't fit snug, the bar stuck out too far, and it was easy to dislodge; it is also incredibly hard and I was worried if it dislodged and I bit down on it, it would crack a tooth. Might work for some but not for me. I threw it away after trying multiple times to mold it and realized it wasn't going to work.

Center stem breaks
I liked this fit very much. Only problem is the center strip that holds both pads together broke. And by the looks of other reviews this is a common problem. I prefer using this one, I want to keep using this. I hope they improve this product.

Saved Me From A Root Canal!!!
My clenching and grinding got so bad that it caused some root damage under a crown. My dentist suggested I try using a dental guard to see if the root issue would resolve itself on its own - otherwise I would probably have to have a root canal. When I balked at spending $600 for a dental guard and explained I had been unable to successfully sleep with one in my mouth in the past, she recommended I try the Ora-Guard, and only the Ora-Guard. She shared that many people who had the same issues as me, were thrilled with the Ora-Guard dental guard. (I think my dentist thought I would come back to her and have her make the $600 dental guard for me afterwards. But, the Ora-Guard worked so well for me that I will never use anything else! Why spend $600 when you can spend $30? Not only is it a "steal" price-wise compared to what dentists charge for dental guards, the Ora-Guard was very easy to use - comes with simple clear easy to follow instructions. I actually called the Company when I did have some questions and they were incredibly responsive to me. They had a "real person" available to answer my questions. I have been using it now for over six months and I could not be happier. For some reason, the design of this guard doesn't bother me like the ones I got from the dentist did, and I am able to sleep with it in my mouth. It worked so well that my root problem did in fact resolve itself on its own and that meant NO ROOT CANAL necessary!!!! I think it is very reasonably priced, works extremely well and I pray that they never go out of business. Highly recommend this product!!!! Absolutely LOVE it!

Doesn’t stay seated properly even with suction and proper molding
I’d give a 1 star but I suppose maybe it takes a lot more skill than I have to form this. I followed directions to a tee and one side kept springing up. Only one side would stay in place and secure. Did the younger thing for suction (remove any air) the one side just kept popping up. I feel like I’d wear my jaw out more playing with it in my mouth since it wasn’t seated properly. Reheated and tried to pinch the sides together to better hug my teeth and still doesn’t stay in place. Ended up in the trash. I’ve had others and this seemed a lot more complicated for no reason. The design just didn’t work for me.

Doesn't fit normal adult teeth or mouths.
Much too small for normal teeth & mouths. If you have a child size mouth, this might work great. Wouldn't fit over any of my teeth. Doesn't reach my back molars, not that it would matter with the ill fit. Complete waste of money. Doesn't adjust & the mold/"cushion" has zero give, so trying to push it onto my teeth just hurt. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Small, rough, uncomfortable.
It molds okay. But the guard is small, and it also rubs the back of my front teeth and roof of my mouth. I think I will have to replace it with something different because it isn't very comfortable when I wake up due to the rubbing.

If it wasn’t for this product, I wouldn’t use a night guard
I grind my teeth so hard that I cracked 3 teeth in 2024. When I got my x-ray results, I knew I had to do something. Tried 2 popular brands and tried plackers grind no more. The regular night guards were awful, so I involuntarily removed them in my sleep. The plackers actually shifted my teeth out of line every single night. These were my last ditch effort to save my teeth. The reviews are scary, but I decided to ignore the bad ones. While I can feel it attached to my molars, it doesn’t push my tongue out of place like everything else does. It doesn’t make me randomly gag like the others. I grind HARD, and mine hasn’t worn out after 4 months. I know everyone is different, but the reviews that state theirs got holes in a week are quite puzzling to me. I hope maybe they have made the guard stronger over time as more feedback came in?
