They are rugged and fair priced and most importantly built to last
I’ve had this exact shoe in the past. I’ve always loved Merrell quality . I’ve had their shoes in the past at the point that i’ve had to change out the insole before the outsole is even remotely wore yet thanks to their vibram construction. I also love these shoes because they’re a cross between going for wildness treks and simple city walking they are built like tanks but as comfortable as a Range Rover. I feel super locked in and they have plenty of room with their super wide toe box

Great Shoe!
Before I purchased this shoe on Amazon, I had been trying on different brands and styles of shoes at various stores. I knew I wanted something built with good materials that would last me several years, look good with a variety of different clothing options, and work well for a wide variety of activities including hiking, working out, walking around all day, etc., and also at a good price. I'm not a fan of spending tons of money on several different pairs of shoes tailored to each individual activity. I found a pair of these at a store and really liked how they looked and fit. My foot fits well in the size I purchased, and there is some arch support as well, but not overpowering. I've never has a pair of Merrell's before, but they're known for good quality and these shoes look and feel like good quality. They have real leather, thick tractiony soles, an agressive look, and tons of color options. I've worn them for a couple of weeks and they feel great. The best part was the price. At the store I tried them on at, they cost $120. Then I checked on Amazon and they had my size for under $60. I noticed the price was different depending on size, and possibly color, with some of them costing as much as $120. I'm not sure why this is. You might want to select different options before purchasing to see if one size or color is a better price. They are also probably a bit heavy for people that want something really light for running or working out, but for me it just makes my workout a little more challenging. It's not supposed to be easy, right? Other than that, there were a couple of other little issues I should mention. For some reason, the shoe I got looked like a lighter shade than what was pictured. Then I held the shoe up next to the picture, and they looked the same color. It may be that the pictures were taken under different lighting conditions that made them seem a bit darker, I don't know, but I've seen other reviews that say the color is different, and I thought so too until I held them right next to each other. A trick of the mind. The last issue is size, and this is the most important. I'm glad I tried them on at a store first, because I generally wear a 10-1/2, sometimes an 11. At the store I needed an 11-1/2, but they fit perfectly! I ordered an 11-1/2, and again they fit perfectly. So I would probably order one size large if you want them to fit. On a last note, I liked these so much that I ordered another pair of a different color. I felt like these were such a great shoe at such a great price, it was well worth it to have a second pair. These will probably last me a good 10 years between the two.

High-quality, very comfortable for walking and all day wear
Husband loves these. He’s now bought two different colors. He likes a shoe with a stiffer toe box but not too stiff. He has some arthritis in his big toes so he wants a shoe to combine flexibility with stability. The toe box on these is great, not too narrow or too wide. They have nice thick tread, a wider sole, and provide good stability while walking. Never a blister and no issues with breaking them in. He pulls them out of the box and puts them on. Instantly comfortable. We have not tested how waterproof they are. We wish they offered more color choices, but did not take off a star for that. Recommended for walking and everyday life. We are not hikers so cannot attest to how they would handle serious terrain.

Good shoes for lawn and garden work
This is the third pair of Moabs that I’ve purchased in the past 4 years, so I’ve had a lot of experience with them. These shoes are cool and comfortable right from start and they have a tread that is substantial enough to allow you to walk along fairly steep inclines without having to worry about slipping. I’ve found that the last couple of pairs lasted about 18 months of hard every day use before the plastic bottoms became separated from the cloth uppers right up at the toe and spreading downward throughout the whole front of the shoe. (caulk and duct tape can solve the problem) Eighteen months of hard use is good enough for me. They will remain waterproof during a light rain but a heavy rain will leave your socks soaked within about ten minutes. Allow about two weeks for delivery.

Best shoes I've EVER owned.
I was a New Balance guy for many years due to my very wide feet. In recent years, they've become very disappointing, falling apart even when quite new. This past Summer I was headed to Europe for a lot of hiking. After an on trail failure of New Balances the year before (brand new pair and the bottom just came right off), I knew I had to find a better solution. I had also been dealing with a lot of blisters. I decided to try these based on some youtube videos. They did not disappoint! Even after a 20 mile hike, no blisters and no foot pain. The best part is even after 150 miles of some very hard trails, they're still holding up great! I am so very impressed by these shoes and this company. I've been telling everyone I know to get a pair. As a teacher I have to be very careful how I spend my money. I have to get value for my dollar. These were very expensive for my budget. I've learned that if you're going to enjoy travel, your feet have got to be happy. These have worked for me. I'm saving up for another trip in 2027. My budget is going to include another pair of these. These shoes made a trip of a lifetime even more amazing than I could have imagined. When the school year started, I went back to the old New Balances with all the shoe goo repairs. Standing all day teaching in those was now torture. I started wearing these. They're not really dressy enough, but I got them in black, so they work ok with khaki's and a nice shirt. The last 3 weeks, I'm walking up and down the rows, ready to help my kids. I have not felt the need to sit down and rest my feet like I used to have to do. So these shoes not only helped me enjoy the vacation of a lifetime, but they're helping me help kids and be the best teacher I can be. We'll see how long it takes for them to wear out. I thought I'd add that they are the perfect amount of grip, even on the wet cobblestone streets of Europe. I never slipped once.

Great shoes for outdoor activity
I had previously had the women's version, but they were unavailable when needed. These are nice, rugged, firm, and supportive. I ditched the lousy insoles for a softer, thicker insole. These are my daily drivers and I hike, work, and do chores in these. Comfortable while still supportive and aggressive traction for snow, mud, and other debris. Very happy with these.

Second Pair – Proven Durability & Comfort After Break-In
This is my second pair of Merrell Moabs. My first pair was the Moab 2, and they lasted me 5 years before I finally decided to replace them — which says a lot about the durability. Because of that experience, I didn’t hesitate to go with the Moab 3 Low. Out of the box, they felt supportive and well-built, but they really started to shine after a few days of wear. The sole gradually molded to my foot and became noticeably more comfortable, so there is definitely a short break-in period — but it’s completely normal and worth it. One quick tip: at first I noticed a little rubbing from the laces across the top of my foot. I realized it was just from uneven tension when I laced them up. Once I tightened the laces evenly from bottom to top, the issue completely went away. Take a second to lace them properly when you put them on and you shouldn’t have any problems. They’re stable, supportive, and feel durable — great for everyday wear and light hiking. Based on my experience with both the Moab 2 and now the Moab 3, I’d absolutely buy them again.

Love These Boots
High quality product and excellent fit. Can be tough to find an affordable hiking shoe in wide width so was pleased when I realized Merrell, a quality brand, offered a wide fit option. Very comfortable, even after a long day’s hike. Purchased for a four month trip to Europe and they are still as comfortable after 4 months as the first day. Thick soles with great grip/traction. The only negative is they are bulky so they took up a lot of space in luggage. Regardless, I would definitely buy again.
