Glad that everything is great and that logan and max are cured. Great job Review: Book clears up many of the loose ends... - The book read like an episode of the series-I could almost hear the characters speak as I read. However, the author relies on his other two books for themes and situations, instead of the series (which I guess you might expect from the third book in his trilogy), but he gives enough background so that the reader isn't lost by not having read his other two books. All-in-all, the book gives at least some closure to the abrupt end of the series--[...]. Speaking of closure, the book left wanting more. Other reviews have called the ending "lame". Maybe the author was setting us up for another book. But seeing that his contract was for only three books, I doubt it. Since no other books are likely in the works, the author needed to add an epilog to explain the ending. Who knows, maybe someday he will. [...]

What would have been Season 3
If you, like I was, were totally bummed out when Season 2 of Dark Angel was the last, this book will bring you the conclusion you were hoping to see. I am not going to ruin the plot by telling you all about it but you will not be disappointed. Grab a copy now while it is still in print.

Okay Read, But . . .
Judging by the series Facebook page, Dark Angel (2000-2002) still has its share of dedicated fans. One thing they have in common is their disappointment that the show wasn't given a proper ending by the Fox network. "After The Dark" provides a resolution of sorts, with mixed results. Combining reveals from the show's second season, along with writers' commentary from the DVD set, we know the following: 1. In the distant past a comet passed close to earth, depositing a deadly virus which nearly eradicated humans. Over thousands of years a group with a natural resistance to the virus, through a selective breeding program, developed superior physical capabilities and are now poised to take over the earth following the comet's next pass (i.e. The Coming). They comprise a secret breeding or snake cult (certain snakes are hosts to the pathogen; members' children who survive a snake blood ritual are inducted into the cult). 2. Sandeman, designer of the covert Manticore genetics program, was a rogue former cult member who infused his transgenics with resistance to the comet virus. Max Guevera (X5-452), we learned, has no "junk" DNA; she was created with complete immunity to the virus. If a third season had gone into production, Max's blood was to provide the basis for a serum against the virus, thereby making her the savior of humankind. Because "After The Dark" is designed to end the series, another conclusion to the comet virus storyline is required, which renders much of the second season premise irrelevant. Parenthetically, while an inconsistency in "Skin Game," Logan's inability to walk without his exoskeleton is actually in keeping with the writers' intent: the regenerative blood transfusion he received from Joshua in season two would begin to fail in the third season. Overall, the novel is well-written and entertaining, though some of the dialog, especially Alec's, could be better executed. Collins quickly--if rather unconvincingly--resolves the Manticore designer virus impediment to Max and Logan's romance (see also "Skin Game"). The author answers what happened to Donald Lydecker, and best of all provides a satisfyingly gruesome finish to the vendetta that began with Annie Fisher's murder. Worth a read by fans: just understand that this is not the direction the show's writers planned for the principal storyline.

Answers Many of the Questions
I enjoyed the last of the Dark Angel books because it stays true to the TV series character development. In addition it does provide answers to the snake cult history and agenda and shows how "Eyes Only" was able to get back with Max. The author does give lots of background information to you, the reader, to refresh your memory of what leads up to and happens in the last episodes. If you were a fan of the show I would recommend this book.

All dark angel books are great
I purchased all the Dark Angel related books (Before the Dawn, Skin Game, After the Dark, Eyes Only Chronicles)They were all much better than I expected. Mr. Collins is a very good writer.

After the Dark (Dark Angel) is a gripping tale that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The intricate plot, richly developed characters, and atmospheric setting drew me in from the very first page. Author's storytelling prowess shines through, weaving a narrative full of suspense, mystery, and unexpected twists. With its blend of romance and supernatural elements, this book is a must-read for fans of the genre. After the Dark is a captivating and unforgettable read that leaves a lasting impression.
