Bought for wife's birthday which was last week.... ordered early to avoid late arrival. When she opened it we noticed the heating element wires frayed so badly that the unconnected wires are exposed.

I purchased this for my husband’s birthday as he loves to fish as a hobby. He uses it to melt old fishhooks and create new ones. It’s very easy to use and comes with clear safety instructions so that my 7yo doesn’t burn himself. I make earrings and am accustom to pounding designs into my metals and when I make a mistake, I try to repurpose or throw it to scraps. My 7yo was rummaging through my scraps and melting them using this device. He created something beautiful mixing the metals! I now sell these beautiful pieces made from melting medals with this device. I can’t tell you how easy it is to use. I highly recommend this for jewelry makers like me!

I was looking and got lucky, for the money I don’t know how to beat it.

It works for melting lead to make my fishing weights. I gave it 4 stars because you have to turn the heat all the way up to melt the lead. You shouldn't have to, I think the labeled temperatures are wrong.

Now I will never buy another weight to go fishing

update:smoked like the instructions said, sides started glow from heat. then died!Handle said was still getting power but the cup kept getting cooler then nothing :(had possability. but probably better to find something else.Update: found an adapter I could unscrew & see what was happening with the pins.seem to be getting stuck, loosen the recieving clips & now works :)did research, knew I would need a multi adapter that does a/b/g. but wont go in.Might butcher the plug & see if I can still get it to work.
