Shelly Pro 1PM - Wi-Fi Bluetooth Smart Relay Switch With Power Metering, Home Automation, Alexa & Google Home Compatible, iOS Android App, No Hub Required, Wireless Light Control

This Shelly 1PM is a quality product. Shelly products just work how they should. I feel they are a trustworthy brand and you can actually trust the stated specifications unlike a lot of other IOT brands. I’ve fitted this in my “Fusebox” consumer unit and it fits without any modifications to the cover etc. I’ve connected this one via WiFi and it despite the metallic enclosure it is installed in, I haven’t had any issues with the connection. (WiFi signal is good tho). However I’ve also installed many of these using the Ethernet port. This is certainly my preferred method when installing for clients or installing lots of them, as you can’t beat the reliability of a wired connection. If installing wired ethernet cable in the UK you’ll need to consider: BS7671 Regulation 528.1 – Segregation of circuits Specifically, this includes the requirement that: “Where cables of different circuits are installed in the same wiring system or enclosure, the insulation of all conductors shall be suitable for the highest voltage present.” Basically standard Ethernet cable doesn’t have the required insulation specifications to be in close proximity to the mains voltage cable. You can get special Cat5 cable that does, or you could perhaps install some additional insulation over the cable. When installing them you have to consider the terminal capacity and you will likely need to use connectors in a lot of cases as the terminals will only accept a single conductor if you’re using 2.5mm or larger. The terminals have a maximum torque of 0.4Nm which is quite low. I purchased a smaller torque screwdriver to ensure I didn’t exceed this, I think a lot of the issues you see others complain about with Shelly products are caused by not following this instructions when installing. The app set up is straightforward, with multiple options to set up, including Bluetooth or scanning local network etc. The Shelly app is good, but Shelly excel at integrating with other systems such as home assistant. I’ve also used home assistant to get them to work with Apple HomeKit. You also can use these completely locally so they don’t need a cloud if you want. I’ve got this set to come on when I have cheap electricity rates to charge my partners car via the 13 amp plug she has for it. It also records energy usage and does so on time based tariffs well. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy more of these in the future

Brilliant gadget it can turn off or on anything you link it too in fuse board. little tricky to fit but after 3 minutes it’s done. i followed youtube video for tutorial as instructions are for european countries.

I think the switch is well made and should work perfectly if installed with a switch in the circuit. We tried fitting it, replacing a previous switch that kept losing WiFi, but did not have a parallel switch to wire in, so it broke the circuit and did not work in this setting. Contacted customer service, which was very responsive, but they confirmed it should work in this setting and sent a replacement in case of a fault. But the replacement behaved the same way, so assuming it should be marketed for the specific case with a parallel switch installed.

We have ten of these and I'm in the process of replacing them all. Why? Because the published specs say they support a maximum of 16A. In practice, they overheat with a 13A load and shut-off. The Shelly support team says they don't recommend them for loads more than 10A. Because of this the use cases for these devices are vanishingly small. Aside from the mis-stated specs, these are awesome devices. There is a tonne of flexibility with WiFi, bluetooth, ethernet. The Shelly software is pretty good and they work well with Home Assistant. However, with the specs mis-quoted I just don't know where these would be useful in a home. NB do not fit these yourself, get a professional. These go in your fuse box and any work there is notifiable.

I’ve been using the Shelly Pro 1PM for about three weeks to control my CircuPool RJ30+ saltwater chlorine generator, and so far it has been completely trouble-free. Setup was very easy. I installed it inside my pool pump breaker panel and integrated it with Home Assistant. From there, I use automations to command the SWG only when the pool pump is running at the required speed. One of the most useful parts for me is being able to monitor when the SWG is actually drawing power. That lets me see when it is actively running versus when the unit has cycled itself off, rather than only knowing whether power has been commanded to it. For my setup, it has basically just worked since installation. Home Assistant integration has been straightforward, the control has been reliable, and the power monitoring gives me useful information that I wouldn’t otherwise have. Based on my experience so far, I’d buy another one.

Mooie degelijke techniek van Shelly, gekoppeld aan home Assistant , kan zelfstandig op eigen netwerk gebruikt worden zonder afhankelijk te zijn van een cloud provider . Aanrader, ik ga er nog meer van Shelly kopen, veel verschillende oplossingen hebben ze.
