I'm unclear on why your bat has a chainsaw, or why you would keep a bat as a pet when they do so much ecological good in the wild, however, yes, you can use these clamps to hold anything, as long as it has a relatively square and flat-ish surface to compress. If the two jaws don't line up the clamp will slip, so be sure to tell your crazy bat to hold still.

Are you able to remove the rubber pads on the end of the clamp?

Yes, the plastic 'feet' are removable, in fact they fall off quite frequently (dare I say annoyingly?) and I don't use them unless I'm clamping something soft or with a finish on that I don't want to dent. And I've had to buy a package of replacement feet for those times when you need them, but find that they've fallen off into the Woodshop Black Hole of Lost Objects (aka the shop vac probably). Still, these clamps are infinitely useful, feet or no, and I highly recommend them.
