I wanted to try pyrography and chose this as a tester to see if I liked it or not. It's ideal for beginners and I've practised on scrap wood just to get the feel of it. I do tend to use only one nib which is the pointy one as I've found I can control it more, however I'm sure with more practice I'll gradually use the others as well.

Heats up very well, good length of cable, excellent for a start-up in wood burning plus ability to be used as a soldering iron and Comes with a storage case.

...works well with all the end pieces I could want, shame the light doesnt go out when it's reached the peak temperature and also a shame there's no real way of knowing when it's cooled to a safe temperature to be packed away. The flimsy bag it comes in was also a little disappointing, but definitely not a deal breaker.

Bought in December 2023, however only 3rd time using it the item broke. The attachment/nib actually broke off whilst burning a piece of wood with only minimal force being applied. This resulted with an incredibly hot piece of metal falling onto my lap, i stood up quickly and it fell on to the floor whereby it burned the carpet rug (see photo). Part of the nib attachment is stuck in the end of pen meaning the whole item is now unusable. Other users have had similar issues i understand, really frustrating and potentially dangerous, especially as i can't contact the seller.

It was really nice that even some samples of wood pieces were included in the kit so he could get going straight away! I bought it for my Son who is looking to take Woodwork after High School and so thought this would give him another area of woodwork to look at. I also purchased a book on How to sell your Stuff on Etsy and ebay etc. to encourage his entrepreneurial side.
