Amazon Essentials Men's Classic-Fit 9" Chino Shorts

I’m very efficiency-focused and prioritize comfort over fashion, so I purchased these shorts mainly for the value. I started with just one pair to test them out before committing to more. After wearing them regularly, they’ve easily met my standards for daily use. Pros: Comfortable material that feels good throughout the day Solid build quality for the price Accurate fit and true-to-size Flattering, clean look without trying to be flashy Great value for everyday wear Cons: No glaring issues so far Long-term durability remains to be seen after a year of use Overall Verdict: These shorts have exceeded my expectations for comfort, fit, and value. I plan on purchasing multiple pairs in different colors now that I know they meet my standards for daily wear. If you’re looking for reliable, comfortable shorts without overpaying for branding or style, these are a solid choice.

I've been searching for the last year or so for good shorts with either velcro or buttons on the back pockets. I like carrying my big wad of cash in my back pocket so I want to make sure the roll of 20s don't fall out when I sit down somewhere. I've been buying Docker brand shorts for many years, but they no longer make their dress shorts with secure back pockets. This being Arizona where most of the year it's luke warm to hot weather you really need a bunch of shorts to wear near year-round. So I thought I'd try these Amazon branded ones, and bought a size 32 with a 9" inseam in the cheapest color they had just so I could try them out (color teal for around $13). This way if I didn't like them even after breaking them in and washing them it wouldn't be a great financial loss. Packaging is easy and generic: inside a simple plastic bag and a small tag. No stickers, nothing else to have to remove. Just take out of the bag and remove the simple, generic, barcode tag. I noticed that the stitching was solid with sturdy thread, unlike a lot of other brands that cost twice as much and yet seem to scrimp on the thread. These feel very well made. The buttons are solidly stitched on as well and should last a long time without falling out. Zipper runs up and down very well also. When I first put them on I thought the inseam might not be the short 9" that I prefer because it felt like it was a tad too long and was rubbing the back of my thighs, which really annoys me, hence my desire to always buy shorts with the shortest inseam. Well, I almost returned them at this point, but thought, "what the heck, for $13 I'll wear them some more and give them a try". Well, after a couple of hours of wearing them and walking around all over the place the hem softened up enough that it no longer bugs me by rubbing against the back of my thighs. So that's definitely a plus for me! I started to give these a one star downgrade for the only nit I have against these shorts: the front pockets seem to be about 1/2" to 1" shorter than I prefer. I would prefer to have the pockets be just a little bit deeper, in which case I'd give them a solid five stars. But because of this, I'll give them 4.51 stars and just round up for the overall very good quality and really good price. They're not quite Docker's quality, but they come close. The only difference, besides the pockets being a little bit shallower, is that while the cloth material is pretty thick (compared to many other brands I've bought over the years), it's still a fraction of a mill less heavy cloth than Docker's. So buy them if you want to try out something different that's nearly as good as top end brands, but costs a third of the price. But if you carry a big wallet in your front pocket then maybe not. But my Samsung Galaxy S21 does fit well in my front pocket along with my smallish wallet. I just wouldn't recommend carrying two big items in the same front pocket. PS I'm going to buy a few more of these to replace my worn out Docker's

Impressive for the price. I was looking at shorts more than 3x the cost, and so I tried a pair of these shorts. They are true to fit, with quality fabric and stitching. I'm going to buy a few more.

These shorts are perfect! The legnth is great and the material thickness is perfect. I've been buying these for over t years and are by far my favorite short from anywhere. They wear well and washability is super easy. The color does not fade fast at all. They always come consistent in size and I love the comfort and pockets. I also really like the affordablility and the numerous colors.

Overall, these shorts are affordably priced and are very nice. They look great and fit well (once I got the correct size). The fabric is soft, comfortable, and of good quality. The length of the shorts is just where it should be. The only issue I had with these shorts is that the waist is cut way too big. My waist is 32" and I have rarely had any issues when buying shorts/pants with a 32" waist. Not with these. I ordered 3 colors with a 32" waist and all 3 were very big. I measured them to be around 34". So I returned them and reordered the same shorts in 30" and 31". The 30" fit snuggly. The 31" were still just a bit bigger than a normal 32" short, but fit well enough for me to keep them. If not for the hassle of ordering multiple sizes and returning the ones that did not fit, I would have rated these at least 4 stars (maybe 5).

Love these shorts. Fits true to size. Material feels very nice. No need to spend $40-50 on a pair of shorts any more

I have tried more expensive shorts from other companies, and was struggling a little with size and feel. I ordered a pair of these shorts as a test. I love them! They feel great and look awesome. They are the perfect length on me. I am 5'9" with a 30 inch inseam. The material has a medium weight feel which will be good for spring through summer weather. Not too thin, not too hot. They feel solid and the zipper feels like it should last. They are 4 pocket shorts, and I am leaving my cargo shorts behind in favor of a classier look. These shorts hit that mark nicely. They are easy to care for, but I do sometimes press my shorts and shirts just to keep things crisp. These are a great value for the money. Based on my first pair, I bought every color to fill out my wardrobe. There has been no shrinking or fading. The material seems to be durable.

Fit was good, material good, I like these shorts.

The quality of the product is good. I wear between 38-40 but this 40 fits like my 38s. Washed it to see if there was any shrinking but was satisfied it retained the size.

My husband loved the style and the rich green colour but the size really makes us disappointed. Go size up by at least 1 or 2
