Cable support for both sides a strong plus. *by U***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 July 2024* Everything about this connector pair suggests careful thought in the design, both from the installation and waterproofing points of view.I was especially impressed by the provision of waterproofing for the cable entry to the interior of the female connector. This is often overlooked, and can also be a weakness in terms of cable support, which in turn can lead to terminal movement in the socket. However, you do need to loosen the cable protection sleeve before trying to undo the panel mounting nut on the rear of the socket, as this is otherwise obstructed. In the test sample, this nut was also cross-threaded, but it was easy to remedy and had not damaged the thread.The terminals on both sides have easy access for soldering, and the waterproof cable sleeving helps relieve direct strain on the terminals themselves.For panel mounting, the socket has flats on both sides of the main thread so, if the installer has the means to punch or cut the appropriate profile, they will get a well-located mounting which resists rotation easily.I prefer to pot any soldered terminals in silicone sealant to avoid corrosion, but this is really only necessary for connections subject to repeated or prolonged immersion. Every element of these components is well protected by O-rings or rubber washers, so there is no need for further waterproofing.The only bit missing from the set is a cap for the male connector to protect it when disconnected. Quite often disconnected leads get left lying around and can attract dirt or corrosion, so having caps for both sides would keep both these otherwise excellent connectors in good condition.Overall: Well worth the price, and definitely recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Well made component *by N***9 on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 July 2024* The connector is of a very good quality and really well made. I got this for a DIY project to fit a solar panel to some led lights on a water fountain hence the need for a water proof connector. I am really pleased with it and it's relatively straight forward to disassemble it and wire it up.
