Review: it's a great book with codes that can be easily adapted to other claims data, not only medicare. the flow and step-by-step comments are really helpful to guide the project from the beginning to the end. it does not intend to serve as a sas intro book (some functions, syntax, statements could be easily found by 'googling' them online), but it is very straightforward for application without unnecessary trivial in a typical sas book. Review: Not for SAS beginners.

Not for SAS beginners.

I did not like this book that much. Example should contain multiple years merged data. Codes are litthle bitbcomplex. I can write easier codes by myself for the same example.

This is a must have for all SAS programmers who are interested in medicare administrative data.

If you already have experience programming in SAS or SQL, as well as prior exposure working with health care claims data, then this book probably won't be of much use to you.
