PTFE is a hydrophobic material. The product description for these specifically states "syringe filters disc Hydrophobic PTFE membrane." Hydrophobic is not the same as anti-fungal or anti-bacterial.

Yes but on mine the filters seemed to be fused solid so nothing could pass through.
