Gourmet Carnivore 2.8oz Cans-12 Pack Beef Liver and Lamb

I love this brand. It's one of the only foods I feel comfortable feeding my cat. However, the meat in this flavor seems tough and my cat often won't eat most of the pieces. I've even see her try and give up because they were so chewy. Still giving it three stars because the product is safe and a good value for the ingredients. The chicken varieties are much better though. I'd recommend those instead, unless your cat has iron jaws.

i can appreciate the superior quality of the Tiki Cat brand. But unfortunately, neither of my two cats will eat it. One of them is elderly and too skinny. So obviously, I want a food that he will eat! This particular flavor, the beef liver and lamb, has very hard pieces in a gravy. Liver is supposed to be a very soft meat. But these pieces are very, very tough. It's more like lamb with liver flavor. I did try breaking it up using my fingers. They still wouldn't touch it.I purchased a few other varieties of this brand. I'm going to keep trying and hope I can turn them on to this food. But I wouldn't buy this flavor again.

Pretty sure I've purchased all the verities in the "gourmet carnivore" line (aside from any containing fish). They have all been a big hit with my Maine Coon kitten. I was a little disappointed when I cracked open the first can. Compared to the Tiki Cat gourmet whole foods I have purchased that are well packed with shreds of chicken(my cat doesn't tolerate fish) these are about 50/50 meat/broth. I like that it has identifiable unadulterated chuncks or shreds of meat. Princess Fi likes it and has never refused to polish off the entire meal unlike so many other brands and flavors she has been offered. So if she is happy I'll keep buying it. However it will not be an every day food.

The liver is tough and would probably be more palatable if it were ground rather than cut up. The cats lap up the juice,
