Very Happy! - I've bought various leather paint brands over the years, but I always find that Angelus is by far the best quality. They may cost slightly more than others, but you want your hard work to last and look fantastic, so it's a no-brainer purchase. This was my first purchase of the 2 Hard product and it worked perfectly. I bought a new pair of black patent leather boots, but the sole sidewall had the ugliest colour. The side wall is made from rubber and I didn't want the leather paint to peel or flake off. I gave the rubber sidewall a very light and quick sand with fine sandpaper, followed by wiping the area with isopropyl alcohol to remove anything left that may inhibit the application of my products. I did however use a clean damp cloth as a final prep. Once dried I applied two layers of this 2 Hard primer. You can use it alone as a primer as I did or you can mix into your leather paint. Given tit was a rubber surface I applied it neatly. You do not need much, a little goes a long way; I used a small flat brush and dipped the very end of my brush lightly into the 2 Hard, which covered approximately one third of the sidewall. It’s a watery type consistency that dried clear. There were little bubbles on the application, which disappeared with a second light pass of the brush. I then waited 30 minutes to allow it to air dry before applying a 2nd and final coat. Once that dried (30 minutes), I then applied several coats of my Angelus custom mixed leather paint and completed the project with 2 coats of the matte finisher. I'm delighted with the outcome, and how durable it's been, gripping on to the rubber perfectly.
