A Simple Version for Kids
This is a good and simple version of some of the Old Testament chapters in the Bible aimed at helping children understand what it says. Each one is a short chapter of about a page that is followed by a prayer related to to it. It is meant for parents to read each section to their children to facilitate conversations. It would make a great gift for parents of young children.

Nice little book
As a writer of children Bible stories, I found this little book interesting and I'm sure kids will love the stories. I especially appreciated the prayer at the end of each chapter. Children should not only learn Bible stories but should be taught how to pray, and as is the focus in each prayer, be thankful to Jesus for his blessings.Had the author included pictures to support the stories the book would be an instant hit as kids enjoy pictures and would appreciate the stories more.On the flip side, there are a few editing issues and some stories digress a little from the Biblical version. For example in the story of the Tower of Babel, God did not tell the people "not to stay together in one place. They were to spread out worldwide and live." He confounded their language in order to stop the building, then he scattered them. There are inconsistencies in the story of Abraham and Ishmael and a few others but I may be nitpicking. I wouldn't want to take anything away from a good effort. Well done!My complimentary copy of the book was well-received.

Old Testament Stories for Children
Love how this book ties in the stories from the Bible by making it personal to our children's lives and every other day brings in a prayer. Prayers can be tailored to your child and their specific needs. Children learn to feel comfortable talking with God and learning the power of our prayers based on Scriptures. The stories are easy to read and understand for younger children and while I wish it had illustrations, it still is a great resource for parents.

The Bible Simplified For Kids
I love the simplicity of this book. I wish I had a book like this when my kids were young. It would have made life for all of us so much easier! I like the simple prayers following the stories too.

OLD TESTAMENT BIBLICAL STORIES RETOLD FOR A YOUNG CHRISTIAN CHILD
I received a MOBI.file copy of this book from the book’s publisher through a giveaway they had on LibraryThing, and the following is my honest opinion.Despite my parents being Christian, I essentially had a secular upbringing as a young girl. Of course, we attended church, but it was on a semi-regular schedule. When my mother would read me a story at bedtime, it would be a secular one like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and the like, but never anything biblical. I didn’t possess a passion for sharing the words of the Lord until I had published my first two Christian books at age 69, which inspired me to become a Christian blogger. Being a rather voracious reviewer of Christian books, which had been the inspiring reason for my becoming a Christian author, I’m leaving the writing of this review to my inner child.Being a young Christian child, while I like listening to the stories straight out of the Bible, I find the words too hard to understand and too confusing at my young age. That is why I loved the biblical stories that this book contains from the Old Testament.Gone are all the confusing words and too long stories, which have been thoughtfully replaced by the same stories written in a way young Christian children like myself can understand and appreciate. The stories are complete, with the heart of each story still intact. The stories are told in a way to allow children like me to begin to know and understand the Lord and have our faith in the Lord to increase with each story. The only thing I found disrupting about how the book is presented is how the stories and the prayer that goes with each story have been separated into separate parts of the book instead of simply coming at the end of this story on the same day. This is why my inner child and I have given this book 5 STARS.

Good stories and prayers
I appreciate that the stories come from Scripture (not verbatim though) and the prayers given are reflective of that story. It's important, as the book states at the beginning, to teach our kids the ways of the Lord. To love him, obey him, and be thankful for all that he is and does. So I appreciate how this takes simple stories, and prayers, and teaches kids about God.So why the 4 stars instead of 1? Well, this was written as a "scripture" for one day and then a prayer the NEXT day - and the prayer coincides with the scripture. I have 2 kids of my own and I know that they will not, can not, and do not, remember the story from the previous night and so I think this could be much much better, albeit shorter in "days", to have the story AND the prayer as 1 "day". And maybe that's simply how you take the book - but that's not the intention of the authors. Lastly, there are some editorial issues that made their way in - but I didn't take that into consideration on my 1 less star.
