These are fine. Totally fine.
Listen, you're like me, you bought a whole bunch of BlueAirs when the fires made it scary to go outside at all, when you're sitting there refreshing PurpleAir like it's doomscrolling, when it wasn't even necessarily safe to breathe *in your own home.* A PM2.5 of 215 is not a good thing to be around. So, BlueAir itself, the OEM product, is "HEPA-equivalent", which, well, that's a little bit of hokum. It's a very good filter and honestly you don't need a HEPA filter for your home most of the time. You want a high-throughput filter that cycles the air several times an hour, cleaning it as it goes. I'll spare you my feelings about the BlueAir machine itself and discuss the filter.Like the expensive OEM product from the manufacturer, this no-name Amazon thing from yet another brand made up of smashing a keyboard, is a pleated paper thing with some foam on the inside that purports to be charcoal-ish. There are the expected bits of fitting so you can snap the filter together with the BlueAir fan module itself. It's solid enough to keep its form when you put the sock over it or if you knock the whole thing over. And, most importantly, it's a tenth of the price. In life safety, mission-critical situations, I'd want the highest quality filter material and construction money can buy. In "make it less smoky in the house so I can breathe" applications, the weird-name Amazon brand is totally fine. It still does all the neat things like getting rid of many kinds of cooking smells. Performance is approximately the same as the "real thing."Remember, though: change it when you need to, not only when the light comes on. The light on your BlueAir just goes off when you've run it a certain number of hours. It *does not know* your filter's dirtiness level. It's a good chance you should have changed the filter long before the light turned red. Inspect your filter for dust and discoloration every month, when you go to change out the sock.

Love the Blueair
Improves air quality from VOC's and pollen. Operates very quietly. Only have to clean and replace the filter every 6 months. Very easy to clean.

Fits and is a good value
While I don't technically know how well it is filtering the air because I don't independently test is, it seems to do well. It fit into the machine perfectly and is easy to install, and much better value then the one from the manufacturer.

Good replacement
Fits well for an aftermarket filter and filters the air well. A good cheapish replacement.

Cheap but less quality compared to the genuine blue air filter
The important part, the filter seems to be of similar quality, but the rubber binder that keeps the filter together is a lot thinner.

Off to where the air is clean
Buy these NXBHG Blue Air filters. They have an incredible long life to them. They work just as the original filters with the exception that these filters don't quit on you after 38 days. Yeah I'm looking at you 2024 Chicago White Sox. Anyways a three pack lasted me a year and a half in my by finished basement. Be a good person and give your Blue Air 411 air cleaner thingy a break. Get them these filters and get yourself a 64 oz bag of Bugles. Ain't love grand.
