Q: One photo appears to have lighter colored thread than the jacket, and another photo appears to imply darker colored thread... which is it?

Every jacket I have purchased has threading that matches the dye color of the jacket material. The photo may have been off due to lighting. I have not seen any issues with Tavasu jackets. I do recommend no bleach when washing in gentle cycle and hang dry. The material is strong , but good jackets should be washed gently for long term use. I would wash separately from other clothes and cold water wash.

Q: Is the size chart accurate? I notice these "S" dimensions are about the same as most "L" dimensions for other jackets.

I find just the opposite, if it says Large I buy XL.

Q: I'm 6' and weigh 235. i’m not fat, more muscular. 46r chest. will a xl fit? Should I go with xxl?

You may want to try xxl I’m about 5’10 217 muscular and xl fits me nicely but if I were any larger I think I would need xxl.
