I wasn't sure at first, but this thing works!
When I first unpacked it, I almost sent it back. The chain adjustment mechanism appears to be really flimsy plastic. However, it DOES work just fine. I bought this thing for less than it would have cost to have my venerable old gas chainsaw serviced. Yeah, it's a bit of a pain to have to run an extension cord to where you want to use it, but if you can put up with that, this may be all you need. No worries about whether it will start. No mixing gas and oil. No fumes. I wouldn't recommend it for daily hardcore use, but for occasional casual household tasks, it's just fine. I just cut up some downed 6-10" trees and it zipped right through it. Cuts well. Lightweight. Easy to handle. One gripe is the front handle (actually the hand guard). On my gas saw it actually stops the chain if there is a kickback. This one is just a plastic piece that is fixed in place. Bottom line.. it's a pretty good saw for the price.

Pretty good low-cost chainsaw!
For how little I spent on this, I was quite happy with its performance! The chainsaw has plenty of power and it does a great job! I only have two complaints, the first being that it’s a corded chainsaw, so you have to drag a cord around wherever you go. But I knew this when I bought it, so that doesn’t count against the product. The second is that there’s no emergency brake, which every chainsaw I’ve ever used prior to this has had. This might be because it’s electric- the chain stops pretty soon after letting your finger off the trigger. But if the saw were to kick back and the chain were still running, there’s a guard but no brake to instantly stop the chain. Again, I’m not sure how critical that is on a chainsaw like this, but it’s good to know.Being an electric chainsaw, it’s nice to only have to supply bar and chain oil and not gas as well. Also, it’s more maneuverable as it’s smaller than a comparable gas chainsaw. Not to mention it’s much quieter, the noise is much less objectionable than a gas chainsaw, and there’s no exhaust to breathe. The chain tensioning mechanism is toolless and like every chainsaw needs periodic tensioning, but I found it to be better than expected at holding the tension.I bought this because of its low cost to help me take a stump out, which is pretty abusive work for a chainsaw. So far it performed quite well! And I wasn’t planning on keeping it around once the job was done, but it’s not a half bad tool! In my experience, Wen builds decent quality tools at an affordable price (I have a few pneumatic nailers from them that I’ve used extensively, and also like.) I would certainly recommend this chainsaw as a good quality low-cost option!

A great chainsaw for the price
I had some branches and small trees that I needed to cut so I was looking for a chainsaw. I was a bit skeptical if this product would work but I was happily surprised that it works so well. It did not come with oil so I got some chain and bar oil and put it in. It was easy to put together and it's very easy to use. It cuts though wood like butter and overall is a fantastic chainsaw for the price. The only issue that I've experienced is the chain keeps getting lose as you use it, not sure if that is normal or not. I saw other people saying that it leaks oil but that hasn't happened to me yet. If you're looking for a budget electric chainsaw, you can't go wrong with this one.

Totally Worth the Price
I had a 35' Elm tree come down in my backyard compliments of Hurricane Helene. I wouldn't normally need a chain saw, but I took a chance on this one because of the low price. When it arrived, I was impressed by the quality of the plastic housing, very durable and solid feeling. It had no trouble cutting up my elm tree (the trunk was 15") and it worked flawlessly throughout. I only needed it to last for one tree, but it still works as great as it did when new.

Exceeded Expectations - A Must-Have Chainsaw!
I recently purchased the Wen 18-inch 15 amp electric chainsaw, and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations! From its powerful performance to its ease of use, this chainsaw has become an indispensable tool in my arsenal.First and foremost, the power of this chainsaw is remarkable. It effortlessly cuts through even the toughest of woods with precision and speed. Whether I'm trimming branches or cutting down trees, this chainsaw gets the job done efficiently every time. One concern I had initially was the issue of the chain coming loose, as mentioned by some reviewers. However, after doing some research, I learned that this is a common occurrence with chainsaws as the chain stretches during the first few uses. With proper maintenance and adjustment, I haven't experienced any issues with the chain coming loose.Another important point to note is the necessity of using the correct extension cord. I made sure to use a heavy-duty cord suitable for the power requirements of the chainsaw, and it has performed flawlessly.Overall, I highly recommend the Wen 18-inch 15 amp electric chainsaw to anyone in need of a reliable and powerful cutting tool. It has truly exceeded my expectations, and I'm confident it will exceed yours too. Don't hesitate to invest in this top-notch chainsaw for all your cutting needs!
