I have an 8' ladder I wanted to hang horizontally on the garage wall. I bought 2 tornado hooks. I screwed them into the studs. The brackets are long enough to extend past my ladder so that it holds it in place well. Super easy to install. I plan on ordering more for other projects.The only downside (which has nothing to do with the product) - Amazon did a crappy job packing these hangers. One came in the package. One did not and had no screws. Amazon quickly replaced that one. But, the replacement came and the box was crumpled up. The hook was laying loose in the box. The package was laying loose, and the 2 screws were loose. Nothing was damaged, but I'm not sure why Amazon struggled with packing these both times.

Strong, solid, and simple to install. Total confidence that it won't fail.Update --- over one year of use with no issues. I have a 22 foot ladder that I hang on one of these. A year of taking it down and putting it back up has not caused any loosening of the bolts or any tearing of the rubber. Good product. I bought a second one that carries a smaller ladder as well as a pole saw. No issues.Update............ 3+ years and still strong, no issues. Complete confidence in the product.**** 4 year update.... Bought 2 of these to hang up some folding chairs in my garage. The screws that it comes with are fairly large (wide threads for like drywall) and weren't the easiest to get in to wood studs (possibly should have not used them?). Overall they work great. Each set can hold 4 chairs and they feel very sturdy.Pros: sturdy once up on the wall, rubberized rails are nice to not mar whatever you're hangingCons: The screws it comes with seem to be mutli-talented buggers. They didnt go in to studs easiy (but are sturdy once up)

The 5 stars is for the quality of the Tornado Ladder Hook. I have used many of the Tornado hooks in the past and have found them to be good quality hooks. I will likely buy more as needed. One star for the execution of the purchase on Amazon's part. I was sent a previously opened package that was missing the screws. I will still use it with other screws I have as it's not worth sending it back. There's no excuse for sending out a product listed as new in this condition.

In a hundred years, my garage should be named "Tornado's Museum of Hooks." My garage walls, which display a total of thirty different Tornado hooks, are a testament for the company's well-made products. The hooks are durable and can be used in a variety of ways. For instance, I follow the package's instructions. It may state that a hook NOT secured to a wall stud will only hold up to 20 pounds, then I only hang an item that weighs less than 20 pounds. Sometimes the package will give two weight limits - a lighter weight limit for an unsecured hook and a heavier weight limit for a hook secured to a wall stud. Tornado makes high quality, storage items. I highly recommend Tornado Hooks for your storage purposes.

Used for family tennis rackets, works well. Very sturdy, total overkill as far as streignth goes for my purpose, but size was right.
