From an avid candle burner’s point of view, this one is outstanding quality.2 things keep me from rating it a full 5 stars: the lack of a lid, along with the high price.PROS:~ you can feel the quality right away when you lift up the thick, smooth cardboard box.~ the wick is already properly trimmed & ready to go.~ when lit, there is no smoke & it burns and pools evenly.~ at 1st, I thought the scent was too faint for my taste, but it builds.~ the “Grapefruit & Patchouli” sounded intriguing, so that’s what I ordered. It’s crisp & fresh without any sweetness & the fragrance is subtle, but distinctive.~ the light amber glass jar is classic & handsome.CONS:~ I don’t know why this is made without a lid. Having one can add to the look & make for a more decorative piece in a room.~ even without a top of any kind, this is currently priced at $40 which is higher than most for an 8.5 oz. candle jar.As you can see, the pros definitely outweigh the cons so, bottom line, it’s a great, top quality candle with more of a splurge price point.**Thank you for reading this review & I hope that it’s Helpful!** 🕯

I appreciate quality, however no candle is worth spending $49.

Friend recommended this to me and I get compliments on how great my house smells all the time now.

We love quality, natural candles and this isn't one of them. Right out of the box, the perfume is over powering... the scent is hardly natural in anyway. My wife woke up the next morning with black in her nostrils so I examined the candle burning carefully, and sure enough, black smoke in abundance. Unfortunately, I bought 4 of them in 3 different scents. I tried burning 3 hoping for better results to no avail. We gave the last one to our neighbors who don't care about health or stinking up the whole house with heavy perfume.Salt & Stone should be ashamed of themselves: calling this a quality, natural product. $200 down the drain. By the way, the uber expensive natural grocer Erewhon, sells their candles for the same price.

I have heard about this brand before so I was so excited to try this long lasting candle. It comes in a very chic black box and the packaging is unique and simple. The scent is grapefruit and patchouli and I’m absolutely in love with this scented candle. It is a long lasting candle with 50 hour burn time so even though it’s a very pricey candle but I think it’s worth it as a it will last so long compared to cheaper options.

Candle has shipped twice melted and has never arrived in tact :(

This SALT & STONE Grapefruit & Patchouli Scented Candle has a nice minimalist design and nice strong scent. It is grapefruit & patchouli scented so I actually expected it to be sweet. But in fact it has a really nice balance of sourness, bitterness and floral scent.It has average burn time, but for this price, it is definitely not the best value. Worth trying if you are looking for something unique and quality.

This candle is HUGE and pretty enough to take center stage in your living room or office. The fragrance is light and very pleasant, it burns evenly, and the ingredients are natural and carefully chosen. This candle is a bit pricey but worth it for the excellent quality.
