Yes it does. Just bought one last week and I’ve been pleased with it.

Q: Can you use for home ac unit unattended

It's not an umbrella for the AC unit. It's an umbrella for HVAC technicians. I wouldn't use this to provide shade for any machine. I just used mine today. Changed a compressor on an old rheem on a black rubber commercial roof with a parapet(no breeze). 100°F This umbrella comes through. Kept me out of the sun all day. I wish the struts were a little more durable.

Q: How strong is it in windy locations?

I have one of these & can tell you that windy rooftops are not ideal. Mine got sucked off the unit it was attached to and BARELY missed hitting a car in the parking lot. Wasn’t the umbrellas fault tho, I shouldn’t have used it in those conditions. This thing is a life saver if you work in the sun
