Review: Skin picking - I pick at my fingers, usually without even realizing I’m doing it until it hurts or bleeds. I hate the way that lotion leaves me feeling, but I’m desperate for some type of relief and ChatGPT suggested I try this. It works y’all, like it’ll kinda look worse before it looks better and you have to use it consistently, but it works! When I use it like it’s recommended, my skin looks great, I’ve even used it on my face with no issues. It’s thick so a little goes a long way, the smell is subtle and it doesn’t make my skin feel clammy like every other lotion has. We've went through so many store bought lotions that really were a waste of money and settled on using aquaphor and gloves before bed every night because that's the only thing we found that actually gave him a little relief. I decided after scrolling through yet more hand creams online to try Gloves in a Bottle based on all the positive reviews posted. I even got the smaller bottle because I assumed we'd have another lotion that didn't live up to its reputation. I was wrong. It actually absorbs immediately and leaves hands silky feeling. I didn't notice any sticky residue, maybe if you use too much, but I did use a small amount and concentrated on applying product to the areas of my hands that were prone to winter time over drying. My husband was also pleasantly surprised. Hes only been using the Gloves in a Bottle for a few days and the deep knuckle cracks are already healing! He does take it to work and will reapply every four hours or so. So far it's the only hand cream that has actually worked so of course it's worth the money. **Q: Was interested in this and saw was good for hands messed up by alcohol sanitizer; my son can't use any product with alcohol on his hands. Confussed???**
A: There are many hundreds of drug and cosmetic ingredients with the word "alcohol" in their names. These break down into 3 basic categories, depending on how many carbon atoms they contain and how they are grouped together, which are basically drinking, rubbing and waxy alcohols. 
The "drinking" and "rubbing" categories of alcohols can be very drying. The "waxy*" category of alcohols have quite the opposite effect as the other two. These waxes can be found in nature as coatings on leaves and stems of plants, and prevents the plant from losing excessive amounts of water. Gloves In A Bottle and Skin MD Natural do contain waxy alcohol but are 100% free from all "drying" varieties of alcohols.
* A wax is a simple lipid** that is a long-chain alcohol. This alcohol may be made up of 12-32 carbon atoms. 
**  To keep your skin healthy and functioning properly, your body produces natural oils, moisture and ** lipids. Environmental irritants and toxins along with frequent washings can strip these essential elements away, leaving you with dry, cracked and/or problem skin. Shielding Lotions bond with the outermost layer of skin cells to help restore the natural protective qualities of the skin - to keep it healthy and functioning properly, the way nature intended. 
PLEASE NOTE: Anytime anyone who has problem skin, or any allergic reaction concerns, when using any skin care product or applying any other substance for the first time, it is always highly recommended to first only try it on a 1 inch square patch of skin just below and inside the left elbow (that is where the skin is the thinnest), then wait at least 12 hours to see if there is any adverse reaction before applying it more liberally.

**Q: Are these 2oz bottles paraben-free? (No propylparaben or methylparaben)**
A: Those ingredients are not listed on the bottle, or anything that ends with paraben, so I would guess they are paragon-free.

**Q: how much do you have to use for each application and how long will a 2 oz bottle last? and also will this come off when you wash your hands?**
A: Like 1/4 teaspoon depending on size if your hands. I use it for waitressing job, where my hands are constantly wet, I apply it 1-2 times a shift (6 hours), it already lasted me a month and the bottle is far not done. The creamy part comes of when you wash hands, but it does bond with your skin and protects it for many hours before it naturally exfoliates.
