Easy enough for beginners, good enough for shows
This thing is VERY intuitive and easy to figure out, but still offers all the quality and functions you'd want out of a basic looper. The drum kit could use more options, it's fine for busking but I wouldn't count on it for much else. But the looper part is great, works exactly how you'd think it does. If you're having trouble getting the loop to synch with the drums TURN ON THE GREEN LIGHT IN THE MIDDLE! Great build quality, sturdy metal. Nothing to complain about, especially at just around a hundred bucks.

So close to perfect... Yet so far
This may be the perfect looper pedal for you. It is undeniably good. Very close to perfect, but for me, it's just not quite what I need. It's unfortunate, because to get exactly what I want, I have to spend three times as much as this pedal - so keep that in mind. The build quality seems good. It's easy and intuitive to navigate, for the most part. Separate volume controls for the loop and the drums. Overall, a really nice design. Simple, but featureful. So, for me, the drum sounds are fine for jamming along, but they're certainly not great. I don't expect most loopers to have a great drum section anyhow, even the more expensive ones that sound better still don't sound *real*. So, to that end, the drums in this pedal are varied and acceptable enough. The ability to lock the loop to the drums is good, and makes the looping function much easier to nail with the tempo. I didn't really have any issues with the functionality, especially when I realized that the two-button design makes it really easy to choose if you want to go into play or overdub mode after recording your initial loop. Undo/redo, clearing, everything is really easy to do. It's a great looper!But... I have two main problems with it. One of them will not impact the vast majority of you, and that's the lack of Linux support. I have not run Windows since 2002 on any of my computers, and I have never owned a Mac. Unfortunately, Donner support doesn't even know what Linux is, and ignored my request for the USB communication protocol in order to tackle creating my own utility to pull the loops off the pedal and onto my PC. Oh well. This wasn't really the deal-breaker for me, but it would have been *really* nice to have. The biggest feature that this thing is lacking is the ability to overdub longer than the initial loop. I know, most loopers don't feature this, and you could just record your initial loop as long as you need. But the trouble with that is, you don't necessarily know how long of a loop you're going to need, and then you can't shorten it either, so... Really, this seems like a no-brainer design decision to me, but as this was my first looper pedal ever, I had just kind of assumed they all were designed to allow longer overdubs. I was obviously wrong, and now I know that only the more expensive ones can do it (and even then, it's usually in the form of a second track that can be played in parallel). The TC Ditto+ can do longer overdubbing, but it's not stereo. Anyhow, if Donner had put this feature in the pedal, it would have been a killer looper pedal. As it stands, it's already a very high value for your money, it really is. But for me, I decided that these two features matter enough to me, that it's not even an option to keep it. For you, maybe these aren't actually issues, and in that case, you really can't go wrong with the Circle Looper.UPDATE: really regret returning this pedal. For way more money, the Boss RC-10R is nowhere near as nice to use (though it is more capable, works with Linux, and has multiple tracks). I wish this Donner pedal had the features I need, because they nailed the user experience, otherwise!

I can't stop using it.
The media could not be loaded. ย Can't stop using it.The Donner circle looper is a looper with 40 memory slots and a synchronized drum machine in one pedal. There are 100 different beats, in 10 different styles, plus 10 metronomes, bpm control and an independent volume for rhythm and loops. Did I mention tap tempo? It has tap tempo. You can run the looper and the beats in synch or not in synch. There are two inputs and two out puts that allow you to run the looper off two instruments or out of two amps. So, for example, if you want to run a guitar in one channel and have it come out of one amp and a bass or a eukele in the other and have it come out of a different amp, you can do that. Or, you can run a stereo reverb or delay or chorus or something in front of the Circle and then run to two different amps and get stereo sound. I am really enjoying the beat library. I have not used them all yet, but I find having that many different rhythms at my finger tips is pushing me to learn to styles and new techniques that I might not have gotten around to without the Circle Looper. The Drums sound organic and lively. There is a button in the middle of the looper called "MERGER CTRL." When you push it, it turns green. Then when you switch from the rhythm side to the looper side and start the loop, you get a count off and then the drums start when the loop starts. And everything stays synched. If you don't push "MERGET CTRL" the beat and the loop won't stay synched. I'm sure there is a use for a loop where the music slowly drifts away from the drums, but I'm not there yet. The first time you don't use the "MERGER CTRL" it becomes clear why you should. LOL. Quick note, the drums and the loops act independently. So if you record a loop and save it, and you want it to play with the beat you recorded the loop with, you will have to set the drums to the settings you had them at when you recorded it. This is really easy, but if you don't realize that your drums aren't automatically saved, it can be a little jarring when you wonder why you thought you had been on time yesterday and today it sounds like there are two different songs playing. Going back to "MERGER CTRL" once you dial in the drums that you used to record and press 'start' the drums and the loop will start at the beginning of the loop. I hope I'm not making this sound complicated, it's not. The Looper has an led screen that is easy to read and very useful. The screen has a little "circle" that runs around the outer edge of it to tell you where you are in a loop, once you've recorded the first layer. So, if you get lost, you will kind of know where you are in the song. The Screen also tells you what memory slot you are on, what beat you are using, what bpm you are at. It will also tell you if you are coming into the looper too hot. The Directions are clear and detailed. This pedal is a little more complicated than just a simple looper, but it is definitely worth the effort. I honestly can't stop using it. It's just great and for the price, it's down right amazing. I believe these have already sold out twice, so if you see one, snatch it up.

Cheap and simple to use.
I took away a star for three reasons; 1. No on/off switch, 2. Drum loops are a bit lame, 3. You need a separate foot pedal to get the most usability from it. Other than that, you can't beat it for the price and ease of use. Even if you buy a separate footswitch, it's still cheaper than most loopers out there.
