High quality!
I installed this system at home and it works really well. The video quality is clear, even at night, and the wide-angle view covers a large area so I didnโt need extra cameras. Setup was pretty straightforward, especially with PoE since itโs just one cable. The app is easy to use and I can check everything remotely without issues. Overall feels reliable and worth the money. Would recommend for home security.

Good hardware, terrible manuals, terrible software
I recommend this kit for those that just want decent hardware with a decent mobile app, and you're bright enough to figure out how to set this up with zero help from a manual. Not only was the manual so out of date, it was really poorly written and translated. After working with this kit for two weeks now almost every day, there are still parts of the software that I don't understand that aren't talked about in any versions of the manuals. On top of this, there are *4* different graphic interfaces to the system, and all of them are completely different from each other. You have the direct console at the NVR, you have a web administration portal (that I still can't get to do a live camera preview and it's supposed to), you have a regular web portal and a mobile app interface. Nothing about these interfaces shares any similarities. So you basically have to learn the ins and outs and quirks of 4 separate interfaces for the same CCTV system. All while trying to figure this out without any decent or helpful manuals. Even the most recent manual that support sent me directly is out of date. And even that version isn't available on the web site. Just an even older version is on the web site still. My second big issue with the system is the inability to be able to just sit and watch all the camera feeds through the PC app. Even with just 4 cameras hooked up, I could sit and watch the time stamp on my cameras tick away. But then one by one, they would all freeze after a few minutes. I'd go to the console and all cameras are working just like they should. After much frustration over this, I contacted support and they said that they don't support the user being able to continually watch camera feeds via the PC app. Are they serious?!?! I will say that the mobile app works well. It's responsive and easy to use. Now back to more bad stuff... Good luck in trying to download an entire day's worth of video from the NVR to your PC. After more than *24 hours* of downloading time from the NVR to my PC on a wired 1GB single-subnet network, I got about 1/2 a day's worth of video parsed over several files in several MB chunks. Then there's their website. Can you believe that their "demo" videos are just regular people doing their own volunteer tutorial videos they posted on YouTube? Not only are those outdated and useless, but one of the volunteers has such a harsh accent that I can't understand what he's saying anyway. If you go to the downloads section, there are files posted there. But what do they actually do? What are their purpose? And for which version of their systems is it for? And do I need to install any of them? The file names don't give a clue as to what they're for, and clicking on them to go to the download page doesn't give any further answers to these questions. In summary, after two weeks of working with the system and countless hours trying to figure things out on my own, I can say that I do have a decent surveillance system accessible through my phone app. Beyond anything else, figuring out how to setup the system and understand what it can and can't do is an extremely heavy lift and frustrating. I will say that whomever answers their support emails does reply back in a fairly timely manner, which is generally overnight probably because they're somewhere on the other side of the world. I emailed them with a lot of questions and did get answers. But I shouldn't have to email them with the questions I had and experience so much frustration if they had decent literature.

Great for off grid security! Good for the environment too!
I needed some cameras to provide extra security for my farm in a rural area. I'm off grid and using solar power so I have to be conscious of my power budget and everything I use needs to be efficient on power usage, especially something like the cameras that need to be on 24/7 even when the sun is down. I went with the 5MP 8ch POE NVR system which made setup easy since each camera only needs one wire to hookup to the base unit and the base only takes up one power outlet which was important to me since I'm using an inverter connected to a battery bank and it doesn't have a lot of outlets. The base unit sits in a shed where it is exposed to temperature and humidity fluctuations as the seasons change and it is still going strong. I tried more expensive brands like reolink, the picture quality wasn't noticeably better, but what I did notice was that they drained my batteries very quickly and couldn't even make it through one night. The OOSSXX cameras have been running nonstop for almost a year now even through the winter when the sun doesn't shine as brightly and they are very efficient which means I have left over power in my battery bank to run other devices. I tried contacting reolink customer service multiple times about the power drain problem but they took a long time to respond and couldn't answer all my questions. I've only had to contact OOSSXX customer service once since they are running so smoothly but when I did have to contact them they responded promptly and were even more helpful than I expected! If you are like me an need maximum energy efficiency for off grid use these are the best cameras to get. Even if you live in the city where power is plentiful you should get these cameras if you care about the environment and keeping your carbon footprint low.

Good, but note the camera assignements and length of run if longer than 60ft
This was a one for one swap. I had a Samsung setup from 2011 and aside from the app not working anymore, the camera's outer plastic was getting opaque and cloudy making the images blurry. Tech has come a long way, so I figured an upgrade was in order. Since I already had all the lines run and secure, it was just a swap out, however, I discovered that unlike the Samsung, the cameras determine assignments, not the LAN port in the back of the server/recorder. What this meant was that the cameras are no longer 'in order', as camera 1 is assigned to a location that should be 6. While minor, I wish I would have known earlier as it was not until all 8 cameras were installed that I realized I could not change the order on the screen...... Also, one of the runs was extend past 60 ft to about 120ft and that seemed to keep the signal from reaching the server. Power and the red IR lights came on, but no signal to view. I swapped cameras to make sure it was the system, and not the camera. I'm guessing that the higher image quality drives a higher bandwidth that can't handle the longer distance.
