Ok
Reminds me of ACOTAR in terms of the world building and female leads back story. Also very similar to a story I have read on Webnovel. Female lead is annoying at first and a bit of a broken record but she’s fiesty. I did love male leads possessiveness but I think there’s more we could get from him. Decent banter between the pair. Were some holes and lack of detail that would have improved the story. I wasn’t expecting the twist at the end however I don’t understand the motivation of the villain at all! I feel intrigued enough to read the second book.

Exciting
This book was truly exciting.I couldn’t put the kindle down. For the situation she was in I can’t really complain about Jade. I’m looking forward to see if we get a backstory into some of the other wives.I didn’t see the twist coming at the end. I look forward to the other books.

potentials there, but just not for me
Perhaps it’s the character development / characters feeling very two dimensional or the silted plot a to b to c, with very expected developments despite the book trying very hard to be a surprise, or just wishing for a bit more depth to the whole thing but it wasn’t really for me.Overall the writing style is easy to get into, and there were some interesting ideas, and potential with some of the characters but not enough to interest me in reading the next book.

Absolutely gripping!
This story was exactly what I needed! Blackwood weaves the world of the fae and the mystical so beautifully that I found myself lost in the story for hours on end. Malachi was frustrating and alluring, and Jade was both strong and vulnerable, and their contrasts seemed to make the longing between them even more delicious! If you enjoy ACOTAR (and want a small taste of The Hunger Games mixed in), but want to skip the hundreds of pages of world building, Blackwood has it covered, but please don’t sit here and think that is all this is. This is a beautiful story of love and betrayal, trust and heartache, and finding strength in the love of someone you hate to want, but want all the same.I LOVED IT. (Also, get the Audiobook to listen along as you read. It’s amazing!)

I struggled with this one
Read this as I saw it doing the rounds on Instagram. Felt the concept was good but the execution needed work. Everything felt forced and rushed, and I almost gave up multiple times but I hate giving up on any book. Not for me I’m afraid!

amazing
Jade is just great. I love her and I couldn’t put this book down. It’s my first book by Emily and I am so happy that I found her.
