SLAM DUNK IN YOUR TBR ⛹🏽♀️ NOW!!
Ok so the plot was sooo freaking good!!! Omg!!! 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For this book to have NO SMUT/SPICE, it still gave me what i wanted. Alil slow burn moments between the man characters, yet i still couldn’t put this reading down! This book was fast paced building right into its plot. I’m loving ALL characters involved. A MUST READ! I’m literally starting Book 2 after making this comment. Side Note: IF THE STORY IS THAT GOOD THAT YOU WANT TO READ BOOK 2 of a series it’s HELLA GOOD!!! 📖📗🥰

Easy read with a good story
This is a shorter easy read (around 250 pages). The plot was good and there is plenty of suspense. I feel like the characters could be a little better developed and the romance doesn't feel real.

A Tale of Mixed Feelings… and not just between our MC’s.
Let me preface this by saying I did enjoy the book enough to finish it within a day. Were there noticeable typos? Yes. Were there some glaringly obvious similarities to ACOTAR? Also yes. Did it take away from this story? In my opinion not really. You could easily see what was meant or should’ve been present with the typos and I think the overall plot (or at least the idea of the plot) was different enough that I could look past the many nods to ACOTAR.If you aren’t looking for a book to take too seriously I’d say pick it up and give it a try. It’s a relatively fast, easy read that’s interesting enough to scratch a YA fantasy itch if you’re in need. That said, I started off this book with an overwhelming amount of excitement and finished… well… underwhelmed if I’m being honest. All those pages later I still didn’t really know the cast of characters. Vague references to pasts or powers weren’t elaborated on or revealed. Descriptions were scarce and, at times, inconsistent. Supporting characters felt a little one dimensional. And the relationship between the MC’s? I’m not sure what to even think because nothing really happened between them to explain the constant back and forth of feelings. While I was looking for depth I finished the book still wading in the shallows. And the plot? The mystery and the intrigue? Again, I was left wanting more than was actually given. The setting? Couldn’t tell you when it’s meant to take place because someone is wearing jeans in what otherwise reads like medieval times.I recognize that this is only the first book in a larger series, though. A series that, with some more editing (especially with the inconsistencies) and added depth, could be closer to what I was looking for. As it stands there were enough moments to catch my attention and warrant three stars, to make me wonder if things pick up as the series goes on, but not enough to leave me fully satisfied.

Great beginning to a fae adventure.
I enjoy the adventure these characters are beginning. The story hit the ground running, with alternating characters points of view. Can't wait for the relationship to build.

On the scale of 1 to Shiitake
Okay, so first things first… this was my most recent read that didn’t contain any smut, which is good cause to be honest I was needing a little break (believe it or not but you need a palate cleanser)Now on to the real stuff, and this may contain spoilers, idk, I’m not always the best of making sure they don’t.But let’s start with good: Storyline is cohesive, you don’t feel too rushed, and it does leave you waiting in suspense in the best way. The build of the relationship between Mal and Jude is great cause it’s not the, “OMG you’re my mate!” It’s more the, “You better prove you are actually worth this.” And it does just that. The other good things is it does make you question who the real bad guys are, and I’ll be real honest when I say I thought Adeline was the true bad guy (I’m sorry, I’ve read to many stories where the super sweet one was actually the villain, give me a break). I loved that even though Jude was super brave and everything, that they still brought up the fact that she was scared, cause come on, how many stories do we have to have where the human is a complete Mary-Sue!Now on to the meh-parts: Like really? His mom? Of course she would be hiding from her deranged husband, but could we not get something that wasn’t so meh? Also why does she seem, a little creepy and kind of cuckoo… you know that may just be me lolBut all in all great start to the series!

Loved it!!!!!
I started this book and couldn't stop. I just kept getting drawn in deeper each page I turned. The characters..... I wanted to love and hate. I can't wait to see where this goes.

sporadic writing
The overall idea of the story is enjoyable, but towards the end and even in the middle the two main characters acted like they knew everything about each other even though they knew one another for a few days. Not a lot of description to help build the setting towards the end, heavy dialogue which I do like but I’d appreciate more story showing, not telling. Some of the characters are were really annoying, that was their purpose and the author did great at building that and making the connection.SPOILERHaving all the people we thought were bad suddenly be the “good guys” the last 2 pages really made zero sense since there was no foreshadowing or hints to make it all come together, it truly felt like the story just needed a direction so she could continue to make more. Her sister suddenly hating her makes no sense…like one minute ago you were overjoyed she was alive and then the next second she never wanted to see her again.I wanted to care but was not shown why I should. It got really repetitive and the characters sounded very close together in style so when reading it wasn’t like I got a sense of who each character was as an individual and why I should care because they all seemed the same.Felt random and lazy. Again. The beginning was great and fun and informative, but then it was like it was dropped off and rushed, like a teenage girl took it over. I kind of want to read the second one but I’m nervous for how it will flow and I don’t really care about the characters to see what’s going to happen….I want to care cause the potential is so great.

Love it!
The whole story had me hooked! I've been dreading to read another book, I did not think I could find another book that will swirl me with emotions and have me gripping for more! But this story has excitement, and builds on the relationship between the characters. Excited to binge the rest 🦇🖤🖤 Malachi definitely gives off "Touch her and die" vibes, and has a soft deadly side about him. Shadowy bat boys for the win...

Could be better
It's like a cheap version of ACOTAR, the story and the characters are weak and not convincing at all. Wont be reading Book 2

Amazing characters and loads of lovely tropes
This book was everything I had hoped it would be. We had haters to lovers and enemies to lovers, we had court politics and royal bickering, we had siblings we could or couldn't trust, we had typical Fae behavior and we had a human heroine who was exactly the right mix of strong, fierce and healthily afraid. On top of that we also had a plot that seemed quite simple at the start, but turned out to be a little more complicated when we reached the finale. I do hope that in the next book in the series we get to see a little more of the world. The characters made up for everything though. I can't wait to dive into the next one.

Engaging
It's engaging and a nice face fantasy. I mean how can we not love them right? It's the tried and tested balance of possessive and sweet.I just wish the FMC was a bit more sensible and not just so stuck up.
