This is an excellent vaccum it does exactly what it was designed to do.
These reviews have lost most of their relevance to me. I believe vendors are cutting their own throats by providing people free product for review purposes. I hope this review is more practical than most about this product. This vacuum performs admirably, it is much quieter than I expected and is great to KEEP your house clean. If you are the type that fills the dirt bin in 10 minutes you probably should start with a leaf blower, then go to a shop vac and work down from there.Wifi pairing was not difficult, If you don’t have any knowledge of pairing devices, then I would recommend you start with help from someone that is familiar with the technology or just start with a call to their tech support.I read about docking problems, be patient and understand what has to happen for it to doc. It does not go directly to it’s home base, If you have some patience it will eventually find it. Don’t expect it to be quick. This will not replace weekly vacuuming unless you are a very clean person with a small house or apartment. It is excellent for dog hair, If you have 8 dogs and 12 cats in the house, I would recommend you stay with a shop vac. Don’t rate the product poorly because the dirt bag is small, it is a poor reflection on you intelligence. Study before you buy, it will save you a lot of disappointment and it will save the rest of us a lot of time reading worthless reviews. I believe this product deserves a 5 star rating and I paid for it myself.

Handy little helper
I love this robot. I love the fact that I can leave it doing its job while I can take care of other things like wash dishes, doing laundry or write reviews on Amazon haha... a couple things that you have to have in mind. First, is a robot, not a human, this doesn't happen all the time but expect it to miss one or two spots, but nothing that you can't clean in 2 seconds after. It saves you a lot of time, not only in one day. You can set it to vacuum the house everyday, or even more than once daily. For people with cats or dogs this is going to be a really welcomed hand. I have five cats, and I can tell you it does a pretty good job. Second, just make sure there's no cables or any kind of strings (like some pet toys, etc) or sheets of paper on the floor because the robot will get tangled and might cause some damage in the machine. detangling it is not really a big deal all the pieces can be disassembled easily, except that you're going to have to stop what you're doing to fix the problem. Of course you can also place the virtual wall device where the cables are on the floor so the robot will avoid that area.I clean the dust bin after every job, or sometimes in the middle of the cleaning job depending on how full i think it might be, the machine will also let you know when it's full. Battery last more than hour and a half i guess, it has never run out of battery, it always finishes the job and go back to base in about an hour, but a couple times it took more than hour and a half. Some people say it has trouble going back to base, that never happened to me. Just make sure the base is in a clear area where it can be detected by the robot. The robot will wonder around for a few minutes after it notifies you on the phone that the job is done, looking for the base and finally it will go there and put itself to charge.I was scared when i bought it that it would be too noisy, but is not. A regular vacuum makes more noise, I can still watch tv without being bothered by it.

Easy to use and great for everyday housekeeping
We've had the Roomba 890 for about a month now. We have two large dogs (Old English Sheepdog and a Labradoodle) as well as a puppy (Old English Sheepdog). While they don't shed that much (usually clumps of hair like a dust bunny) they bring in all kinds of stuff from the backyard and the dog park. We use the Roomba 890 in our combined great room/kitchen for a total of about 2,000 sq. ft. that is primary hardwood floors and two large low pile area rugs.So far, we are quite pleased with the performance. The proof is in the pudding and even running it every day, it picks up a full load of debris. We do run a regular upright weekly for deep cleaning of the area rugs but the Roomba has eliminated 80% of the vacuuming we used to do.Some things to keep in mind. The Roomba is by far most effective on bare floors. It just doesn't have the oomph to deep clean the area rugs although for surface stuff like grass clippings, dog hair, etc. it does just fine (hence the weekly with the Oreck upright). It also doesn't like cables sitting on the floor. While it can go over them, it does very occasionally get hung up. Finally, I think they cut the 'return to base' a little short. It makes it back most of the time but I have to manually put it back on the base at least once per week.On the positive side, because it uses rubber beaters rather than brushes, it doesn't get tangled with dog hair (or any hair. I have a daughter with very long hair that is way worse than the dogs). I have to razor blade hair off my Oreck rollers but so far, I haven't seen a single tangled hair on the Roomba. Emptying the dust bin take less than a minute. Pop it off, empty it into the garbage, pull the filter and tap it against the side of the garbage, and put it back in. If you are careful, you won't have to even wash your hands after the process.Based upon my experiences so far, if you can afford it, go for the more powerful 980. I'd imagine it does an even better job because it has more power and is smarter. That said, you really won't go wrong with this unit.

Limpia a conciencia

Not worth the price
We bought this in 2019 and although it worked pretty well in terms of suction power, it just has not standed the test of time.In 2020, we already had to replace some parts and have steadily needed to fix/replace parts every few months since.3 years after our inital purchase, the succion power is gone and the part to replace has been impossible to find. We've contacted iRobot with the hope that we could purchase it from them but they haven't gotten back to us.Ultimately, we wasted a lot of money fixing this vaccume that was already super expensive when we bought it. It just doesn't seem worth it to me. There are other brands out there with a comparable product, for much less.

Funcionalidad
