This works just like it looks like it will in the photos. One word of caution- when I closed the little slip cover over the bypass, which increases the pressure and makes it spray further, the return hose slipped off because of the increase in back pressure. This was 100% my fault but I would advise to slowly close that and keep an eye on your filter pressure so you don’t blow your hose off.

Only problem was the fitting to the inlet for my pool. I have an Intex above ground pool, and the attachment that came with the fountain would not fit. After a very prolonged search at a local store, buying what they recommended, and failing to get it to fit correctly, I played a game of find a close enough fit with pieces I already had. With the help of some strong glue and a little arm power, I was able to get it to fit. It is still removable from the pool which I felt was important. It works great, has helped me keep the pool chemicals balanced which is hard in a small pool, and the water temp has stayed cool enough to make it pleasant even during the horrible heat wave of this year.

It has been in the pool for 3 days. We are In Louisiana where the day time temperatures have been 100 degrees. I run the filter for 5 hours in the early morning hours and 5 hours during the day in an attempt to keep the water temperature in the lower 90s.This fountain was a “it couldn’t hurt” addition to that effort. Well it flows at about 4 gpm. For 10 hours that’s about 2,400 gallons which is 15% of the water volume in the pool. Didn’t expect much and not seeing much if any effect to the water temperature.It does give a soothing sound with the water cascading into the pool when it’s quiet around the pool in the evening.It is not very sturdy. Not sure how it will hold up with the kids cannonballing near it.Had to go to the pool store which I hate to do as their prices are often very high. While there I saw the exact same fountain in clear plastic packaging for $25. Already had this one installed or it would have been sent back.

Nice fountain and easy installation

Live in the Houston area. Pool water was like a warm bath tub until I installed my first fountain. WOW! What a difference. I have now installed two more. Pool temps in the evening were 94F and now just a tad over 90F but every refreshing. Morning pool temps are around 88F. These have made our pool swimable in this heat! Cannot recommend them enough. Sure you will have some water loss and increased chemical usage but it beats the heck out of a $6,000 chiller and associated utility costs.
