Spartan Mosquito Pro Tech – Supplemental Box (1 of 2 Required Boxes)

We have these out in our very large yard, we have 2 spaced out pretty well so it covers all areas. It works so well! This is our 3rd year to use them and they never disappoint! We have family events, kids aren’t getting bit by mosquitoes, we live in SE Texas, super humid down here, our mosquitoes are relentless! They don’t stand a chance with this stuff! Highly recommend, use hot water to the fill line, shake well, let it sit for a bit, shake again and put it up. Make sure to drain some off after heavy rain. Which it came with its own little umbrella 😂

Ok. So first things first. Nothing is 100 percent effective that is designed to eliminate or prevent. Birth control for example. Do you stop using BC because it is not 100% effective? Just saying.... I will take a 95% reduction in mosquitos any day over no treatment or harmful sprays. Second, I believe operator error is the reason there is a lack of success for those that claim spartan tubes do not work. You MUST set a perimeter. Which means a minimum of 4 even if you have 1/2 acre. Keeping tubes away from where you sit, which may be hard for smaller properties. We have just shy of 5 acres. We follow the directions setting a perimeter away from congregating areas and refill with water as needed. So for our property we use 10 tubes which is 5 boxes. We rarely see a mosquitoe much less get bit by mosquitoes. I love these and hope they don't change the formula.

I live in the heart of NC, I call it the armpit of the US (in the summer time). It’s a beautiful place no doubt but in the summer it’s like breathing through a hot wet rag, the humidity is insane and the mosquitos THRIVE here, all too well. I’m allergic, but I have a small farm on a partially wooded property. I’m allergic to mosquitos, bites will swell me up and itch for atleast a week and I have an autoimmune disease that makes my skin scar badly. The bites BURN, it’s like I can feel it all the way to my bones. I can say these do make a difference, I hang them in the woods near my barn, so when I’m working out here I don’t get 20 bites in 10 minutes. These are expensive but they do help!! Mosquitos bite here from late February to early November. It’s my own personally hell, but these do help! I use big spay most of the year, but in the worst months I use these too.

Product seems to work ok, not great but you’ll notice a small difference and at this point any little bit count. As for the product itself. Mine came without the hanging hooks, this may of changed? Not sure if that normal or not. But didn’t notice until I already mixed product. So may want to look into alternatives if you want something that hangs.

We live on the lake and this product really works well at controlling the mosquitoes. We've been using this product for several years and are well pleased.

I first started using these 6 or 7 years ago when they came out because we got a free sample when Southern States started selling them where I worked part time and they worked great like a thermocell. This year they don't seem to be doing much, very disappointed. I'm getting ready to change them out and see if I got a bad batch or just not effective anymore. Placed 1 on each side of my house about 20-30 feet from each porch and worked great till this year, you would see mosquitos 10 feet in the air above you but almost never have one land and try to bite. This year it's like nothing's in the yard basically. I used to tell all the guys at my full time job about them working so well but not this year, so I don't know if something changed in the formulation or just a wet nasty spring/summer but definitely not working like the years before.

We hung 4 of the Spartan mosquito tubes exactly one month ago after following the directions exactly as described. I had read a lot of rather mixed reviews prior to trying these. From what I gathered, the 5 star reviewers seemed to follow the directions for the time of placement along with number of tubes and the areas on the property they placed them. We hung 4 tubes on a .80 acre property to keep mosquitos at bay on our large back deck area and off of the garage and driveway area, where kids tend to hang out with friends and work on cars, boat, and prepare fishing equipment etc.- areas where in the evening we have always had problems with mosquitos biting like crazy as soon as the sun starts to go down. We hung all 4 tubes within trees: one in each corner of the backyard, one in a tree that runs parallel to the garage and driveway, and one in a tree in the front yard on the last front corner of the property. I have been sitting outside several nights a week, most recently 2 nights ago, sitting out on the deck from dusk until total darkness with extreme humidity after a 93 degree day. We have not sprayed, used any citronella, or skin repellents. I can confidently say that since we hung the tubes, I have only seen one mosquito in my backyard in one entire month. We live within walking distance to a large pond. I am truly amazed that we have been able to gather in our yard in the evenings and are not experiencing getting bitten by mosquitoes. I ordered 4 more tubes so that I can maintain the same result for July. The Spartan product comes with extensive instructions on how to use the mosquito tubes so that you obtain excellent results. They even provide a link to a video on instructions. I believe if you follow their directions, they work. If you already have a huge mosquito problem on your property, I’m not sure how effective they will be. I think placing these tubes early before the mosquitos are out in full swing is a priority, as well as maintaining the tubes. Due to evaporation of the water in extreme heat and the potential of hard rains diluting the tubes in the summer months, you need to follow instructions for replacing tubes on your property every 30 days or sooner as needed. I am looking forward to seeing how July and August go. I think for the cost of 4 tubes a month through the summer months and maybe early fall, this is a cost effective solution for us. I am not a fan of spraying the property at all, so this product has been a game-changer! Also, want to mention that we have thriving purple Martin birds and several other birds on our property, several squirrel families, rabbits, and a lot of dragonflies & butterflies. I feel confident that using the Spartan mosquito tubes on our property will not have a negative impact on the wildlife. The tubes are hung at least 6 feet high on branches within trees.

I did notice a decrease in mosquitoes when using these around the house they’re easy to put up in a tree or own a fence and I feel like they really worked. I wish they weren’t so expensive or came in a bigger pack but when you’re done with them they’re easy just to throw away as well.
