Grafting Cutter Kit 6-Piece for Fruit Trees & Vines

I'm trying grafting for the first time this year, and bought these hoping they would make it easier than cutting scions with a knife. So far it works great! The grafting blade perfectly cuts branches into essentially puzzle pieces, taking all the guesswork out of sizing them. I used the omega shaped blade, which the instructions said was "easier to use for beginners," and it seemed to leave plenty of the quick visible for what I hope will be a successful fit. The cellophane tape worked nicely. I just finished it off by wrapping the end in a little electrical tape to ensure that it wouldn't unwind. TBD on whether my grafts hold, but if they don't it won't be the fault of this tool.

I’ve had this kit for a few months now and?, …It’s a nice kit. It comes with handy tools, including the tool, a specialized knife, wrapping tape (green and clear), green twist wire and 3 types of graft blades. It all comes packaged in a convenient zippered case which keeps everything nicely together. I found the tool relatively easy to operate but would advise users to be careful to keep fingers away from the grafting blades when operating the cutter. Remember, the tool has an open pruning shear at the end that operates at the same time a graft is being cut. As far as ease of operation: The tool is simple to use but the combination of aligning a branch and making a clean cut can take some practice before being successful. I’d suggest practicing with some branches on a work table first. My first attempts were unsuccessful. I grafted 3 citrus scions to a citrus host tree and none of them survived. Even with meticulous care, it can be a challenge to succeed at first. I later grafted 3 more and 2 show signs of success. Remember, it might take a few attempts before mastering the tool and mastering tree grafting.

One of the challenges with grafting is making clean cuts on bot the scion on and root stock to get the growth tissue to align and , well, graft. Just mashing things with your garden clippers left me with dead grafts. With this kit, using either the knife or the dedicated clipper with interchangeable shaped cut blades, I have had much better success. I am very happy with this purchase.

Very useful to all for grafting. I used it for grafting cherry on almond tree.

Not very good quality tools, very flimsy and break easily

I haven’t had any success grafting anything yet, but the tools work as advertised.
