I bought this for my dog for when we go backpacking. It's perfect. The buttons allow me to fasten it around her if she gets cold. I can otherwise use it as a pillow for her. It fits my child mat perfectly. It's also quite warm! I may even use it myself from time to time.

If you lay them down flat they measure 51in by 34". It isn't unless you pull them as tight as you can that they measure 59 by 39. When in the pocket, it measures 10.25in x 7in x 4in. So it's smaller in blanket size and larger when stored away. As a 5ft 7in woman, if I lay on my back and drape the blanket over my feet so it just barely touches the ground at my heels, the blanket reaches to the small of my waist. In other words it's basically useless. It's smaller than my daughter's baby blanket. As far as warmth, it does feel like it's got a surprising amount to it. I'll have to decide whether to return or to keep as airtravel blankets.

I'm not sure why anyone would rate these poorly. I'm getting on here to buy 2 more of these things. They are great for the plane. Keep you warm but don't take up a ton of room in your personal bag. I also used it in our hotel room. My hubby sleeps hot but I sleep cold. Last red eye we had a 5 hour layover and we had to share one blanket. This time we will each have our own!

Bought these for camping in the mountains. They were extremely helpful in adding warmth without a lot of bulk. They repack fairly easily in the bag, which is really nice, and somewhat rare. Was glad to have them and will be keeping them with my camping gear for sure.
