Some of the reviews of this product are misleading. It’s not fair to give a product a low rating simply because you don’t know how to use it correctly. I’ve been using hot rollers for 30+ years and have purchased many different sets in my life. These curlers are FANTASTIC! If you roll your hair correctly, the result is a smooth, long-lasting curl. The extra-long wire clips (which have to be used correctly) are the perfect length to help make sure the curler doesn’t move or slide off. Overall, this is a great curler set, and I give it a 5-star recommendation!*HINTS:#1 - Don’t twist your hair around the curler; use your finger(s) to hold your hair FLAT against the curler, then roll. #2 - For added volume, lift your hair straight up (fully vertical!) before wrapping it around the curler.#3 - If you just want soft waves, hold your hair out perpendicular to your head or simply curl it as it’s hanging down.#4 - Hot rollers aren’t miracle-workers. It’s still a good idea to use a high-quality mousse or gel to help the curls “stick”.#5 - To help make sure the metal clip is secure, use your thumb to push the bottom of the clip just slightly as you’re pushing it into place. Make sure the top and bottom aren’t parallel to each other. Doing this helps to make sure the clip doesn’t slide off while the curler is in your hair.

I purchased this set because the rollers are large and all the same size. I use them for volume and smoothness. For my hair texture they are perfect. My hair is straight and not thick, but not thin either. The rollers get hot without burning my fingers. They are heated with posts so the roller has no gap like other sets. They heat with the lid down, the lid is hinged and the top is flat. A plus for storage. The cord can be wrapped around the base which is also great for storage. The clips store in the front of the unit, another huge plus. All sets should have clip storage. I have not tried the steam application, but I did not purchase for that purpose. The only negative is that the clips do not hold my hair well, thick hair may be easier to hold. I have clips from a previous set that are perfect, so I use those. The clip on the left comes with the set. The smaller clip on the right is what works best for me. I am very happy with this set and would most definitely purchase again.

Received these today and they heat up well. Only problem is the clips that hold the curlers in your hair. They are WORTHLESS and do NOT keep the curlers in your hair! Do yourself a favor and order the other clips that are available when you order the curlers. Conair obviously knows about the problem and their solution is to sell a pack of 10, of a different type of clip for 10+ dollars. There are many reviews that have people stating the problem with the clips.

These rollers are easy to use and I like that they come with the old style wire holders instead of the newer clips that everyone complains about in other product reviews. You can see in the photos the before, during and after. In the after photo I had not brushed my hair after taking out the rollers. It was rainy and humid outside and I didn't use any hairspray, so the curls did end up loosening quite a bit. But I like the fact that the curlers smoothed out my hair that was crazy frizzed out after blow drying quickly by turning my head upside down. It was still just a tad damp when I used the curlers and I think that helped. Over all I would definitely recommend these. I have a LOT of hair and I only used 11 of the 12 to do my whole head.

I have been having problems finding a hair setter set that I love as much as my very old set. I ordered the set with the two inch rollers and returned them, they did not give me curl just body. So I ordered this set, and still only body. The main reason these are back on their way to Amazon is they are slower than me in the morning. I read the reviews, and tried to gauge the accurate assessment of the way these really function. I let them heat for 15 minutes, then put them in for 35 minutes. (Only because I got busy and forgot about the time.) On a regular basis I have about 10 minutes to leave them in, I did not get any more curl, but still got great body. They work great, if you have enough time to let them heat up, they need more than the 15 minutes I allotted, and more time to stay in. But if time is of the essence in the morning, as it is with me, the instant heat products are better.

I love this hair roller set, the large size rollers are just right for my thick hair. Easy to use, the clips really do keep the rollers on. I did order a set of pink plastic clips also. The hair roller set takes approximately 12-15 minutes to heat up. I usually leave the rollers on for about 10 minutes for a nice soft curl, 20 minutes if I need more curl or it is raining outside. I do use a thermal heat spray (Chi Iron Guard or KMS thermal spray) first and the apply the rollers. FYI: my hair is below chin in a long bob but not all the way to my shoulders.

I am old and have used many many hairsetters through the years. This is overall the best ever. I use Revlon's brush/dryer that I bought on Amazon. Cut my drying time in 1/2. Then when the hair is almost dry and a bit damp, I use the Conair Big Curls Hairsetter to really set the curl. It does come with a small attachment for water, but my way I don't need it!With a good cut and a wonder Hairsetter, I'm good to go for a couple of days!The product arrived in great shape and a bit sooner than expected. I was not happy with the Conair hairsetter because it didn't work for me. However, I believe it will be fine for others. My hair is long and I'm convinced that was my problem. I probably would've done better with larger rollers.I've since had conversations with the seller and my interaction with them was and continues to be excellent.
