I never expected these to work so well. I really expected them to melt onto the pan. My food didn't get the burnt edges that I usually get at high heat.

Convenient
These round baking mats for Dutch ovens work well in my 5-quart Dutch oven. They are very handy for baking artisan bread with a nice crust. Normally, it’s a bit tricky to get the hot bread out of the Dutch oven without an occasional burned finger. With the two long handles on these mats, it’s easy to grab the handle and lift the bread out.They would probably work for other things as well. I wish I had a very large one for my Thanksgiving turkey.I wasn’t sure what to do with the handles for the first part of baking bread, when you want the lid down to hold in steam to get a nice crust. The weight of my cast iron lid seemed to give a good enough seal with the handles going over the outside, but to be sure, I folded the handles down inside the pot. Then, later, when I took the lid off to finish baking, I pulled the handles up and over the outside of the pot.

Thinner than expected but SO HELPFUL!
I make small loaves of bread white a bit and my biggest challenge is getting the dough from its resting place to the Dutch oven where it’ll cook. I’ve tried all sorts of things from silicon sheets to transferring it on paper and none of it has worked very well.This completely changes the game. There’s enough to grab it, hot or room temp, and maneuver the dough around. Plus, nothing stuck to it, so cleaning was a breeze. They also included a small strip similar to the snap bracelets of the 80’s/90’s to keep it rolled up.I highly recommend this. I baked two 250g loaves on them, but it could easily accommodate a 500 gram farm loaf.
